Took my 13 year old son up to San Francisco for a weekend getaway. When figuring out where to go for lunch, he announced he wanted Chinese food. When in SF, where do you go but to Chinatown! This was the first vegetarian restaurant we came across and I am so happy it was. Don't expect fancy at this place as it is old school San Francisco small hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. Because we came at lunch, my son was able to order one of their lunch specials and got to choose 4 items (chow mein, potstickers, fried wontons & eggrolls) while I ordered the lemon chicken entree with a side of rice. Living in Southern California, my son is used to Pick up Stix & Panda Express for asian food so he was very surprised at the difference between americanized asian food vs real chinese food! He raved about everything on his plate... he even loved my lemon chicken! The lemon chicken was a large cutlet cut into 8 pieces and had a lemon sauce over it. The lemon sauce had a fresh & light flavor which enhanced the cutlet wonderfully.
Since coming home, I have scoured our area for a Chinese vegetarian restaurant that comes close to Lucky Creation and have had no luck. Living in Southern California, it shouldn't be that difficult but I was so spoiled at Lucky Creation, I may never find something similar.
