Description: Treat yourself to our very authentic Brazilian steakhouse. Our salad bar/hot buffet features extraordinary fresh salads as well as delicious Brazilian hot dishes. Also enjoy our homemade cheese bread (pao de queijo). But the best is yet to come! Flip the metal wheel on your table to green, out comes a barrage of meats, beef, lamb, pork, chicken, shrimp, and homemade Brazilian sausage. All carved tableside by our meat servers dolled up in traditional gaucho wear.

“A wonderful experience.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

We didn't know what to expect when we arrived at Espetus Churrascaria, we were just looking for dinner, with kids. It was fantastic. After a 10 minute wait we were seated at a lovely table in the window. There was a buffet salad bar which had lots of choice which accompanies the meat which is brought on skewers to your table. You can pick and choose as you please when the servers come by. The beef/prawns/chicken were all amazing. The wine was a little on the expensive side, but I find that in SF restaurants anyway. They were great with the kids too. A little expensive for a normal night out but defo recommend it for an occasion. Would definitely return next time I'm in San Francisco and will not eat anything for the whole day before I go. PS have an caipirinha.

“Meat Lovers Dream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Well what can you say about a place that wraps bacon around a piece of filet mignon and scallops. A meat lovers dream.

“Meat Lovers Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

When you crave meat, Espetus Churrascaria is the place to go. The difference here is the quality of the meat and number of choices, compared to other Brazilian steak houses. The skewers arrive tableside with choices of sirloin, lamb chops, beef ribs, filet, chicken, and many other cuts. Even pineapple, which can be a wonderful palate cleanser. Our hands-down favorite (after the lamb): the chicken hearts (see photo). A large salad bar offers many choices, including grilled eggplant, olives, prosciutto, and salad greens. However, pace yourself for the parade of meat. We have been here and the San Mateo Espetus multiple times, and we are never disappointed. The restaurant can be very noisy, especially on our last visit when there was a large group celebrating a birthday next to us.

“Good service, decent food, but not the best Churrascaria”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

The place is nice, clean and service is good. However, the food is not the best. Compare to Fogo, which will open a branch in San Jose later, I would only rate this a 7 out of 10. I was so looking forward to the beef rib, but it was disappointing. I was expecting fall off the bone, tender, juicy like I've had at Fogo, but it was not even close. I could not even finish the first piece I got. The other cuts of meat are better, but still don't quite seem to what I would consider great. The salad bar was just OK as well. Price wise, it's about the same as what I paid at Fogo Chicago, $55 per adult.

Over all, I would not be back, too many good places to go, so why settle for 2nd best for the same cost.

“Sooo much food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Great restaurant on Market and good value for what you get. No way can you - or should you eat that much at one sitting!!! The meat and salad bar was amazing - be prepared to be VERY full when you leave.
