“Truly stunning.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

Me & my family visited San Francisco we're from England. This was my absolute highlight of our trip. We arrived at the steps late afternoon (the sun was nearly setting) and there was hardly anyone around so this allowed us to take lots of photos of the steps etc. When we got to the top we then went across the road up more steps and eventually got to the top which by then it had got dark to find a beautiful 360 degree view of the whole of San Francisco it was truly stunning especially at night time. It was my favourite day of our 10 day trip. I recommend this place to anyone visiting San Francisco, a definite must see <3

“Moraga steps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Most of the visitors mention the steps on leading to the Grand Vista Park where Moraga St and 16th Ave meets. There is another flight just a little north of it, where 16th Ave turns right and becomes Lawton Street. This second flight leads down to Kirkham Street and is just as beautiful, with different designs.
This place is easily accessible by bus. For visitors who are not driving, you can use the Muni 511 website to locate the bus routes.
And yes, the view from the top is stunning.

“Thanks for your skill and hard work”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

On a recent visit to San Francisco we sought out the 16th Ave Tiled Steps which others have described here. Artists Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher led the creation of the 163 mosaic panels that were applied to the step risers, over 300 neighbors joined in making them, and over 220 neighbors sponsored handmade animal, bird and fish name tiles embedded within the mosaic. The creative process was completed on August 18, 2004. A major San Francisco tile-setting company, generously agreed to set the mosaic panels into the risers and tile the step treads with rough, nonslip tile. The installation was completed in September 2005. The steps are bordered on both sides with beautiful flowers and succulents and local neighbors supply the labor maintaining the gardens. This is a really nice little- known attraction that will add to your visit to San Francisco. Seek it out !!

“Beautiful steps beautiful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

Lovely Mosaic steps lead up to an incredible view over San Francisco--the Pacific, the Golden Gate, the city. Easily accessible by city bus no. 66, which can drop you off right by the steps. You can also take the no. 6 and change for the 66.

“Hidden Treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

SO beautiful! SO creative! THIS is a hidden San Francisco treasure that you won't find in the guidebooks

Located in Grand View Park, it's easy to miss this objet d'art if you're not seeking it out

Start at the bottom of the stairs & slowly work your way up.....take in all the cute tiles & see how most have a name on them as tribute to the person who made it or to whom it was dedicated

See the different "layers" from sea to sky & marvel in the transformation of our beautiful world

Landscaping of lovely flowers & plants all along the staircase make it *that* much more gorgeous & the scene from the top of the stairs offers yet another breathtaking view of our lovely city
