“Must see in San Fran.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

This park is huge and lush. A wide variety of environments to suit anyone. Beautiful to just walk the trails, and see where you end up. I can't wait to go back.

“Heaven on Earth - in an urban center??! YES!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

The Windmill, the Bison, The Casting Pools, The entire DeYoung and Cal Academy area, the Aids Memorial, The park, The Carsouel, hippy hill, stowe lake, the japanese gardens, the botanical gardens.... I could go on. This is one of the most magical places on earth. GGNRA.. .best.. public... resource... and ... open.. space... ever.

“Beautifull!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

This bridge is truly breathtaking in person! Only downfall is that it's pretty far away from downtown. My husband and I took a cab there, got dropped off thinking we could catch a cab back but it took us almost an hour :( If you go with a tour, you'll be on a bus and won't have to worry about a ride.

“Petalboats, row boats, electric boats, bridges, birds, birds, birds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

We had an sweetly romantic, funny paddle/petal boat ride around Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park.

Right now the prices:
Row Boats: $14 first hour
Pedal Boats: $19 first hour
Electric Boats: $29 first hour
Plus a $5 deposit.

In my opinion (and I have used a row boat before) the pedal-boat is best option. It's easier for the novice, it's more stable, and you're more likely to actually do the whole lake in an hour. And you'll be able to dodge the noobs as they turn their row boats in circles. I am okay at the row boat, but it's a hassle to do if you don't have enough of practice and judging by the people we saw at the park, I'd have been like them: struggling to get where I wanted to go. Though that is amusing and fun, it's more tranquil on the petal-boats.

“Hop on Hop Off Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

If you want to see the city and take a tour over the Golden Gate Bridge with the option of paying one fee for a day or two, get a "hop on hop off" bus ticket. We caught the tour down by Pier 40 by Johnny Rockets restaurant and if you take the full tour without getting off the double decker bus it's about 2 1/2 hours, and takes you to ALL the highlights across the city, Golden Gate Park, across the Golden Gate Bridge, haight and ashbury, Trans American Building, Lombard street, the painted ladies and more! It's a must do while you are there and at a reasonable price, if I had more time I would have got off the bus and looked around at each stop but being the last day and only having that one day, it took me to all the places I wanted to see, and being on the top of the double decker bus I did get some amazing pictures along with the narrative by the bus tour guide.
