“Japanese Tea Garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

For what I thought was a modest entrance fee this attraction offers some peace and tranquility within Golden Gate Park. Although this is a Japanese Garden reproduced in Golden Gate Park, for the time you are there it is easy to imagine you are in an original. It is very well presented and maintained, truly beauitiful.

“Biked through park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Rented bikes just to the east of the park while walking through Haight and Ashbury district. Had a great time! Stopped at several points along the way including the Japanese Tea Garden ($7 per person entry fee), the golf course, the windmill, the Rose Garden and Ocean Beach. Saw a lot in a 3 hour bike ride!

“Best public park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

This park is aesthetically appealing in all ways, shapes and forms. It has waterfalls, zen gardens, introspective paths, and a hidden bullfrog or two that will be a nice serendipity along your path near a pond you wander around. It is hard to beleive that it is a manmade environment and it is even harder to beleive you are very near a metropolitan city.

“hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

My hubby and I used some transportation and a lot of foot steps to arrive at this magnificent park! We arrived around 1:00pm to the most magical music. It was Sunday, a beautiful sunny day. There had to be hundreds of people listening to a FREE opera in the park. The sound and actors were so incredible they could be heard for quite a distance. We kept pressing on to cover a lot of area. There were so many people riding in this most beautiful park, families all over the place. No cars allowed so it made it very safe for everyone. There were people picnicking, jogging, walking dogs, roller skating to music and in general having the most wonderful day ever. This is a must visit park!
