A great place with friendly people and plenty of bathrooms. the beds were comfortable and the staff is amazing in helping guide you around san francisco. They even have a place to put your bikes if you went them! The best hostel experience I ever had. Free breakfast and great free dinners. Events everyday! Amazing place. Except it is in a bad area sort of, it is filled with strip clubs at night, and homeless people.

Went there with my best mate September last year. We booked the room with two bunk beds, which was sufficient for our needs, as we were only staying for three nights. Well located just a few minutes away from the centre, this hostel's best feat is the extra activities that the staff sets up for their guests. Went one night on a pub crawl, which BTW was a blast, and they organized crab races, which were a lot of fun to participate and watch. The crwos as you can expect is young and fun. You won't have any problems starting a conversation with the person next to you. Highly recommendable.

This hostel had an awesome combination of everything I was looking for. I was travelling alone for the first time, and I could not have found a more warm and open environment. It was so easy to meet people in the large inviting common room. The free meals they offer three times a week also make it really easy to meet people.
The rooms were tidy enough, and the staff were super friendly. The atmosphere is defiantly party oriented in the evening, but it was still quiet enough for me to sleep (with ear plugs) in the evening I didn't stay out late.
I can't explain exactly what made this hostel so great, but the atmosphere and vibe was really inviting, and especially if you are travelling alone, I highly recommend it!

Stayed here for one night after previously staying at USA Hostels on Post Street due to us only being able to get a bed there for two nights.
Staff were great and v helpful- we were too early for our room but were able to leave our bags in a secure room and use all the facilities.
We had a private room- it was tiny! However for what we needed it did just fine. Room was clean with nice comfy bedding.
There are plenty of activities on if you want to get involved and they serve a free dinner three times a week, perfect for the thrifty traveller!
The location is great as it is walkable to Union Square and Fishermans Wharf. The downside is you are right in the middle of the strip club district and the hostel can be pretty noisy. However if you wanted somewhere quiet you wouldn't stay at a hostel anyway!
Overall a great place.
