“A MUST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

If you're ever visiting SF, be sure to check out Off the Grid at Fort Mason on Friday night. I had some of the best food I have eaten in SF at the food trucks. Such a wide variety of foods and all for decent prices. There's also free entertainment, such as bands performing. It's a great place to go on a date or hang out with friends. I wouldn't recommend bringing children, it's more of a place for 21+.

“Surrounded by yum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

My husband and I watch all the food shows on tv, which seem to have a theme of food trucks lately. We alway say we want to go to one, but there aren't any in our surrounding areas. Well...once we made it to Off The Grid we were in our glory! We went on a Thursday afternoon so there were only 5 trucks...on a Thursday or Friday night there's up to 30 of them in 1 spot! It was hard enough to choose between the 5. Things moved quickly, food was very tasty, and people running the truck were very pleasant. Only downfall would be that we needed to cross the street to buy a bottle of water from the dollarstore. The truck we bought food from only offered soda or sweet tea. Not a big deal and made it even more of an adventure. Off The Grid - What a great idea! :) Go try it out!

“A Must-See in SF!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

Not a lot of people visiting San Francisco know about Off the Grid, but it's a must see during your trip! They have events every day of the week, but their biggest event is Friday night at Fort Mason. There are over 30 street food vendors offering a huge selection of delicious and gourmet food. This isn't your average chip truck! There's all sorts of food, from creme brule to tacos to Korean BBQ. The food is very reasonably priced, about $6-7 for a small portion, which allows you to walk around and sample different carts. On Fridays they also have a bar tent and a live band playing.

However there did not appear to be public bathrooms anywhere close by. There are tons of chairs, but no tables so it can get a little messy. But it's a great atmosphere, I attended three different times during my month in California because I enjoyed it so much.

“Should be called "Off the Planet!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

If your in San Francisco you have to check this place out! Food vans and street food galore. Incredible creations of mashed food from all over the world.

We had Mac n Cheese spring rolls, creme brûlée, dumplings, Trinidad tacos, Korean Japanese fused meat on rice cakes, chicken tikka masala roti burritos, empanadas and local beers to wash them all down.

Add some live music, huge crowds of people having food orgasms and warm weather. I think if there is a heaven this place would be it!

You gotta eat here, go with an empty stomach, try everything, stuff yourself full and you won't be disappointed!

“Music, Fun, & Fabulous cheap eats on the Waterfront”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

Off the Grid at Fort Mason on Friday nights is a fantastic way to sample a variety of amazing food at very reasonable prices. There were over 30 food trucks & tents selling a wide array of entrées, sides, snacks, & desserts with most entrées in the $5-8.00 range. There was a live band playing which added energy to the event. There are lots of folding chairs (no tables) & most people circled enough chairs to accommodate those in their group. Leave a plate, water bottle or something on your chair & no one will take your chair while you are getting food. I was with a group of 6 and we were all sharing so we could try more things. Our favorite was the burritos from the Senor Sisig truck and the creme brulee from a vendor selling from a booth/tent. For a schedule of the trucks & where they will be go to www.offthegridsf.com. I have been to SF many times but this was my first time at OtG. It won't be my last. It is now on my must-do list for future trips to SF.
