“Small room, rabbit warren halls, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

5 nights here. A stone's throw from the Transamerica Pyramid and its adjoining redwood park in the financial district. Tiny lobby, room was very small, ceilings are low, walls are thin, and halls are narrow and winding. Free internet. Can't beat the price and location for downtown. Good restaurants nearby. Desk staff was great, helpful at check in and questions. Hotel is a few blocks from Chinatown and great little mom and pop Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. Safeway supermarket is a couple of blocks away, easy walking distance. Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower is within a fair walking distance, if you don't mind the hills and many steps. Didn't see any parrots, although the sidewalk at the Transamerica building gets hosed off early every morning due to copious bird droppings during the night. Pub next door is good and friendly.

I am a very frequent traveler (airline crew) and currently my schedule has delivered me to the Club Quarters in San Francisco 3-5 times a month for the past 2 years!! It is the staff that makes the difference, particularly Lucy Chu, who greets me with her smile at the front desk and is always friendly, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable when fielding questions regarding my stay. Since I am away from my family so often, the staff at the Club Quarters has made me feel very much at home. Thank you Lucy, and everyone at Club Quarters in San Francisco.

I attended a training course at Club Quarters in San Francisco for three days. On day two at lunch time, it started "pouring" rain. I had limited time to eat and was caught without an umbrella. The kind and courteous front desk clerk noticed the dilemma without a word from me and offered to check me out an umbrella. I was NOT even a guest in the hotel.

Her name was Jenny. Thank you, Jenny for being kind and thoughtful!!

We booked this room through hotels.com. So I am wondering if that is why we got a really small room next to the elevators. We knew we were not going to be in the room much so it wasn't a huge deal. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The pillows could use an upgrade though. The small bathroom had a shower (no tub). The internet was extremely slow. It took about 20 seconds for a page to load so only could do what was needed online. The reception and front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The location was good for us. Easy walk to pick up our tour bus at the Ferry Building and a 20 min. walk to Pier 33 to pick up the Alcatraz Ferry. Also it was an easy walk up to Columbus St. for coffee and Chinatown is just a few blocks away. Parking is just across the street for $32 per day.

San Francisco was my last stop on a week-long business trip and my first time in the city. I was a little apprehensive at first about Club Quarters because I had a) never heard of it and b) it didn't look all that exciting from their website, but my organization is a member and it was the best value for location I could find.

It was awesome! My check in was super easy and my room was upgraded to a terrace suite because they were overbooked. (Thanks Haris!) The room itself was great, clean, and had anything I would need for a stay: microwave, fridge, stovetop, iron/ironing board, in addition to more space and TVs then one person needs.

The hotel itself is really easy and super convenient. It's in the middle of Financial District, and right by the Embarcadero, which means great food and views of the Pier. The surrounding area is really quiet at night/on the weekends, but an easy walk to Columbus Ave and right by a BART station.

My favorite part hands down was the service. A huge shout out to Jenny at the front desk. Not only was she super helpful in answering my questions about what to do in the city, but was honest in letting me know which places would be safe for a single girl at night, and in which bars I would probably get hit on less. Being my first time in the city and by myself, she was a huge resource.

So. Quality hotel, no frills, but being in San Francisco you should be out exploring and not in your room. Definitely a great place for a business stay as they have a free workspace and ipads you can borrow. Excellent customer service. (Thanks Haris and Jenny!)

I usually stay at Club Quarters when in San Francisco. It has rooms that are perfect for the businees traveler or vacationeer. Great location; about 2-3 blocks down from China town. Safe, clean and quiet. The Elephant and Castle Pub is located adjacent to the hotel and serves wonderful pub style meals. Highly recommend this hotel.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I guess I was fooled by the name and location. The walls were thin so I could hear into the hallway and next door, especially when someone open and closed thei door. I didn't have any problems with the AC as others had. Thought bathroom was skimpy with soap and towels and the bathroom door latched with a magnet not a normal doorknob so it didn't provide full privacy. On the positive side the restaurant next door, Elephant and Castle, Irish pub/sports bar, was very good and convenient. The rate wasn't bad.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Main Street. My room was in the back with an alley view
