Loved this hotel, clean and quiet. Very comfortable bed. The best part? empty water bottles that you can refill: located in the workout room, the lounge, and on the room floor. We took day trips and were able to fill a water bottle for each person !! What a perk !!!!!

I stayed at the Club Quarters with a couple friends recently and the hotel was great. Check-n was a breeze, the room was large considering it is in a hotel in downtown San Francisco, and the service we received was all around superb. We were also provided with a roll-away bed free of charge.

Without a doubt the highlight of the hotel is its location. Across the street from the Embarcadero Center, a short walk from the Embarcadero itself, and also close enough to North Beach to be a comfortable walk for a night out. Best of all, there is a passable bar and restaurant right next to the hotel lobby, so a quick bite to eat and some pre drinks before heading out is readily available. I will definitely be considering this hotel next time I am in need of a nice place to stay in SF and my friends aren't available to crash at their places!

We have just stayed 4 nights at Club Quarters in San Francisco. A very clean comfortable cosy fairly small hotel! Rooms were small but fully adequate with FREE internet! Water bottles to fill up from chilled water machine on each floor, good to keep in the room or bring along during sightseeing. Nice lobby with free tea and coffee, newspapers etc. Very friendly and helpful staff! The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to the BART station, Market street, Embarcadero, China town and more. We can highly recommend it, would definitely stay here again!!!

Stayed here with a big group for the Nike Women's Marathon. The location was great, short walk to Union Square and Ferry Building. The rooms were not huge, but definitely bigger than some I've stayed in in downtown SF. There was a very pleasant lobby with coffee and tea all day, a nice tv, computers, and comfortable places to sit. The restaurant next door actually had halfway decent food, although it was really loud sometimes. My only real complaint is that the desk staff was weird about calling us a cab and wouldn't always do it. Overall a good experience!

I travel for a living (pilot), and my airline tends to put us up at crappy hotels to save money. So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Club Quarters on my tripsheet for a long overnight in SFO.

I was delighted by this hotel. If you don't know about Club Quarters, they have 15 properties all in good locations downtown in major cities. They cater to business travelers, so rooms are small which is the only reason I gave them 4 stars out of 5 for ROOMS. But who cares? You are generally just going to sleep there. The rooms are spotlessly clean, free WiFi, free water and again, spotlessly clean rooms with no threadbare sheets or towels that resemble gauze bandages. HDTV too!

The SFO location is in the Financial District and very convenient to Chinatown and the Embarcadero. Adjoining this hotel is Elephant and Castle restaurant which also provides room service. Here is a hint: Because they cater to business travelers, rates are CHEAPER on the weekend making this a perfect hotel for a weekend getaway to one of my favorite cities in the world.

Since my airline pays for my room, I cannot honestly account for the value, but generally the Club Quarters concept is to provide a clean (though small) room in a good downtown location for a good price with no nickel and dimeing you for amenities you need (WiFi, water, etc).

Here is another hint: get up early and take a nice walk to the Hotel Vitale and stroll into the Americano Restaurant on the ground floor for breakfast. Although pricey, it is worth every penny for a superb breakfast as the morning sun streams into the windows while you read a paper and savor your freshly made latte. It really is the simple things in life that continue to paint such wonderful images in my memory...

Easy walk to hotel from BART embarcadaro station if arriving via SFO. Hotel is two long blocks to Pier 1 ( ferry terminal) .Almost at the base of the Transamerica building. Rooms are
small but have everything you require. Rooms have free wifi and lobby has computers with free internet and printing. Coffee available in lobby 24/7 . Irish pub , Elephant and Castle located in building and offers typical pub grug and beer. Good after a long day of touring around. This is a good value for your money in a city that has expensive hotels. I would return without hesitation. Hotel does not offer parking.

My husband and I stayed here on the last 2 nights of our honeymoon. My friend who lives in San Fran said the location would be good for us. This hotel is set in the heart of the financial district, but is an easy walk to the piers (the road we are on took us to Pier 3) and it is only a few blocks to catch the cable cars which can take you just about anywhere you need to be. China Town is also 6-7 blocks away and an easy walk.
We weren't looking for anything fancy as we wanted a good location and to keep within a budget. That was met. Our room was standard, with an average size bathroom. It had what we needed for our trip, but if we had wanted a roomy room that would not have been it.

Hotel staff was friendly and had very easy and fast check-in and check-out service. Upon arrival we had a staff member help us get our luggage up to our room, and he refused the tip which I thought was interesting.

There is no parking with this hotel, so if yo have a car plan on that being an extra expenditure. You can pull-up and check-in/unload at the hotel, but the nearest parking is a couple of blocks away in a perfectly fine/secure parking garage. It was $32/day when we parked. If you need your car a lot over the course of a couple of days, this would be annoying but if you are OK with teh cost and plan to just leave it there you will be fine.

There is no complimentary breakfast, but the hotel is attached to a restaurant with a full breakfast menu. Show your room key and get 10% off your bill.

Pros: location, price, average room, service
Cons: off-site parking, no breakfast, standard rooms are small

Room Tip: Rooms facing Clay Street or Battery Ave will have more street noise
