“Excellent Food & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We popped into this restaurant at the end of the day, staff really friendly, food excellent - so much so we went back during our stay and ate there again and we had the same enjoyable experience. Recommend this to all

“Old historic bakery remains a favorite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Eating soup served in a Boudin sourdough bread bowl is a real San Francisco experience which must not be missed. Boudin's Bakery is good place to get something light, or a full meal, when you are on the run sightseeing SF. The bakery has branches at multiple sites in the city. We have eaten at a few of the branches and found the bread and other food ultra fresh every time. The Market street branch is situated in a historic building with lots of atmosphere and has nice sit-down areas, both inside and outside.

“A great alternative for breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Why pay a fortune for a hotel breakfast when you can grab a decent, hot alternative at Boudin's on Market Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets. The cafe is located in a historical building with an impressive pressed tin ceiling.

There are a number of options besides a bagel, croissant or muffin. I had a bowl of hot oatmeal which is topped with currents, brown sugar and diced apples. My son had the Denver Scamble (scrambled eggs chocked full of onions, peppers, cheese and ham served in a sourdough bread bowl) which he loved.

If you're eating in your best bet is to grab one of the tables on the second floor loft at the front of the building - it is warmer and quiter than the booths located behind the island where you place your orders.

“The clam chowder ROCKS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The bread and the clam chowder are the best. And being able to watch them make the bread is fun, too.

“More than sourdough clam chowder”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I first ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl, but the next visit I ordered the tuna sandwich.... Wow, both were very good. My family ordered quite a bit from the menu and were never disappointed.
