I made the pilgrimmage to the Mission, after reading about Wise Sons and yearning for an authentic Jewish deli. Wise Sons did not disappoint! Much of their offerings are, impressively, made in-house, from smoked meats to fresh baked specialties. They combine a fine sensitivity for well-crafted classics: Pastrami and Swiss on Double-Baked Rye bread with Russian Dressing, for instance, with just enough creative innovation to make things interesting--to wit: smoked trumpet mushroom reuben, smoked trout salad, challah French toast; various bialy breakfast combinations, from a simple schmear, to a more elaborate egg and smoked salmon or pastrami or sautéed greens accompaniement. There can be a bit of a line, but it moves fast and efficiently in my experience.
