“Fantastic Experience!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Gorgeous location in the pristine Presidio neighborhood. Rooms are renovated in the spirit of the officer's bachelor's quarters they once were - with a 5-diamond accessories.
Staff was extremely friendly and offered service without me having to ask. Was there for business but will definitely be back with me family! The general manager gave a group of us a brief but fascinating "history lesson" of the building. He definitely has a passion for the operation and that spirit is reflected by his staff.

“A different slant on luxury lodging”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

The Inn is the former Bachelor Officer's Quarters located on the Presidio grounds. In some ways it feels like staying on a military base, but the Inn is definitely first class with spacious rooms (mostly suites), and only 20 well-appointed rooms, There are several eateries nearby, and Chestnut and Lombard shops and restaurants are about a mile east. Most of the Presidio grounds remain wooded and the Inn is quiet. Muir woods is a short ride over the Golden Gate Bridge and well worth the trip. Shuttles are available for free rides around the Presidio as well as to several stops in the city.

Room Tip: Our room was not a suite, but still large and located in the front of the Inn on the 2nd floor. I u...

“A Gem in the City - kids and adults enjoyed....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

My family and I stayed at the Inn at the Presidio this past week. Upon arrival I was blown away with the charm and attention to detail in the property. The staff were amazing: always friendly, happy to help with recommendations and in general eager to make your stay memorable. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the rooms are well sized - we are a family of 5 (kids are 8, 7, and 2).

My children loved the milk and cookies in the evening and had a blast having the Presidio woods as a playground. If a more traditional playground is preferred, I would recommend Jengus Kahn (not sure of the spelling) - a mere mile walk through the Presidio.

We will back!!!

“Characterful and peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We spent our first night in San Francisco closer to the centre of town before moving out to the Inn on the Presidio, After a slightly stressful taxi ride (the driver couldn't find the hotel) we arrived at the beautiful characterful inn. Our room was extremely spacious - more suite like really - which mean the kids could sleep in sitting room whilst we had the bedroom. The evening wine and cheese and breakfast buffet were delicious. I was concerned that we would be too far from the thick of things being on the Presidio, but there is a free bus downtown and we walked back from Fisherman's Wharf in about 45 minutes. It was also very close to the Golden Gate bridge and we walked there another day. If you want to be in the thick of things, then the Inn on the Presidio is not for you, but we loved the peace and the stunning views over the Bay.

“Quaint place, just don't bring your kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

The Inn and the Presidio is cute and quaint. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfy. We were traveling with a 2 year old and I emailed them twice to request a crib and never got a response. When we got to our room, there was a pack and play with no crib sheet. They said that pack and plays don't need sheets. Not true. We stayed there for three nights and the staff was attentive and breakfast was nice. A big downside is no room service and no walkable restaurants. We had to plan out all of our meals (except for breakfast) and drive to the Marina to do quick errands. All in all, it was an okay stay but I wouldn't recommend it with young children.
