“Good chow for a moderate price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

This place is good for a quick meal. The chowder is delicious as is the fish and chips. The batter is light and crispy. Watch out for the birds and don't feed them. Fast service and good attitude.

“Decent spot, great crab!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

Good spot to stop for a beer or drinks. If you do stop, the cooked crab with lemon is a must. I guess it must be similar to what is found elsewhere on the dock, but the two plates we had were awesome.

“Good calamari and crab chowder”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Friendly service, surprisingly calm atmosphere so close to the street. Liked the sourdough bread bowl crab chowder with a bit of a kick, daughter loved the fried calamari. Just okay burger and fries, though. Mind bendingly sweet hot chocolate and the coffee was not the best. Not there during lunch rush, and service was quick.

“Great food! Good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We sat outside on the self service side and it was fabulous! The food was delicious. The only thing I would recommend is being more clear on the menu. Almost everything is served with fries, so don't order more unless you really need more fries. I think the soup is the only thing that didn't come with fries. Soup was very good, according to those in my group that ate it. I had the fish and chips and it was very fresh tasting and the batter was crisp. I would certainly eat here again. Watch for the birds though, they were not bold enough to land on the table but they will go under the table. Not hateful though.

“Islander impressed! Kudos!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

My sis and I are from Hawaii and it started to get chilly near the pier. We were looking for some place to kick it for a little bit that wasn't too pricey and I remember seeing the Chowder Hut on the pier so we walked over. It was small place but there were people casually enjoying Happy Hour and watching the college basketball game. Needless to say it was pretty good here! We had the Crab Chowder which was suggested by our sweet server and he did take the time to tell us 'its spicy...nothing like the clam chowder..' that is all he had to say and we ordered that along with a draft of Blue Moon. Our server was very thorough explaining our options and our choices for Happy Hour^^ A very large group of family people (at least 10 of them) were a bit agitated the fact the small tables weren't close enough to accommodate them. Instead of being rude the server took into stride and tried to help the family out. Needless to say they were much satisfied. If you are looking for something quick to eat and just a chill, relaxed atmosphere this is a pretty cool place to go! Grant it...if you lookin for something a bit more fancy...this isn't for you but if you want a more laid back no pressure place and service quick and with no attitude, check this place out!
