Close to shopping, Union Square and loads of homeless people who can be quite intimidating. There was a rave party across the road on the Saturday night and the hotel had let a lot of rooms out to the party goers which resulted in a very noisy night with out of control teenagers and attendance by the local police. The hotels remedy for the noise was ear plugs. Wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend.
