“Great staff - good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

Stayed here initially on a conference but extending into a holiday. Our room was wonderful - exactly what you expect from Four Seasons - and despite being a thoroughly modern hotel the fact you can actually open the windows, I love!

It is the little things which set a good hotel apart, and many of these here are provided by the unrelenting dedication to good service from the staff. An example - I popped my head out of the room to look for an ice machine and a member of staff was passing by - within moments he had a full bucket of ice at my door, plus a load of sliced limes for the drink I wanted. He had been in the middle of doing something else...

We accidently dropped a glass of red wine on the bathroom floor - after calling housekeeping it was less than a minute before someone appeared and cleaned the whole mess up so quickly and efficiently it was amazing - like it never happened, and as we were getting ready to go out and showering at the time - extremely welcome.

The hotel is spotless - our room was serviced so well it was a pleasure to return to each day. The staff who run the bar ( a very nice space by the way) are to be congratulated on the standard and speed of their service - even at very busy periods. We loved it in there, so much we didn't go out much after dinner despite the hotel being well positioned for many of San Francisco's attractions.

There is really good public transport right outside the hotel in all directions, and a cable car stop not far away which takes you right over the hill to the Wharf. The Embarcadero is visible at the end of the street and from there you can take off to Sausalito and other locations by ferry. I would encourage visitors to try the bus/trams/cable cars/ferrys to explore - they are really good value and a great way to get around with the locals.

I would recommend this hotel as a great luxury base to see the City from. When you return it is like an oasis of calm and quality in a bustling city which is a lovely contrast.

Stayed here last week and really benefitted from the central location on Market. Everything was close to get to. Fisherman's Wharf, Ferry Terminal, Union Square and Chinatown. I had room 701 which was an Executive Suite and very spacious and comfortable bed. Probably one of the most comfortable I have slept on!
The only thing letting it down were the gym facilities. I think if you want to "work out" it is fine but since it is associated with a Sports Club it is not a relaxing type pool/gym. I am not too disappointed as I knew that was how it is.
All in all a good stay with friendly and helpful staff, especially when trying to source Giants baseball tickets!

Room Tip: If you are looking for larger rooms. the rooms ending 01 are very good i.e. 701/801/901 etc

Fabulous location for exploring the city, great views of Market Street from our window seat in our room but fairly quiet. Front of house staff excellent, room a good size, bathroom with seperate toilet (only robe hooks in here), but no coffee machine (or kettle) we used a wrong bottle of water and were charged over $6! Adequate is best description, but let down by waiting staff - at breakfast we had to ask for coffee more than once, it seemed to be rationed! We had fruit, then went for pancakes and bacon - to find our table had been cleared! Half finished cups taken away too! A hot evening meal was cold and not as good as we hoped.
We had a lovely stay and the concierge knowledge was faultless - great recommendations!!! Just eat out.

Myself and my wife stayed at this hotel this week and have been made exceptionally welcome by the great staff here - nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel is superbly positioned centrally on Market Street and everything is no more than a 20 minute stroll away.

The hotel itself is a little dated by modern standards but very clean and well appointed. Staying here on business the only real food experience has been the cooked breakfast which is tasty and with great variety.

My suitcase was damaged on arrival and the hotel immediately put things right - firstly by arranging a repair and when this was not up to standard they sourced a new replacement free of charge - exceptional customer service.

Thanks to everyone at the Four Seasons for making our stay so memorable. If you are looking for a great base in San Fran this has to be the one to go for.

This is our preferred hotel experience when I travel to San Francisco. The hotel is top-notch luxury, as one would expect from a Four Seasons. And it's a fairly new hotel, so has all the latest accoutrements in the rooms. The restaurant is great for breakfast or casual dinner (it used to be more high-end). What also sets it apart is the proximity to the finest shopping in the City - from GAP to Givenchy. It's all just steps away! Finally, you have the option to take Bart from SFO to within a block of the hotel.

We have just spent six days at the hotel on a business conference. Everything was superb. The rooms are very spacious and bath rooms luxurious. We faced out onto market street from the 7th floor and the room was really quiet. What makes the hotel special, though, is the wonderful, very slick, happy service you receive from every single member of staff. This makes a large hotel seem really personal. The wife highly recommends the margaritas too!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing onto market street have a fabulous view.

Can't fault this city centre hotel it really was a pleasure to stay here - the staff and support staff worked tirelessly to make sure our trip was perfect - the hotel is in a perfect location for shopping and sightseeing and just a 20 min walk to the pier - you are then able to catch a tram up to pier 39
