“Four Seasons a must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

The service is exceptional and the hotel location right in the heart of the city. Everything about our stay was 6 star. We were greeted with friendlainess from the front desk to getting a cab to the service at the bar. Staff were outstanding in all ares of the htoel

I have been staying at the Four Seasons in San Francisco when I visits since it opened. Lasy week I stayed for seven days while there was a large convention in town. There were a lot of little issues with my room, etc. but my room had not been cleaned very well and I found someone else's old underwear and a lot of dust and dirt around the room. I called, but no one seemed to care very much.

Not something I would ever expect at the Four Seasons.

Great location for business or conventions. This is one of those downtown hotels with the lobby on an upper floor. Checked in at noon. Room was not ready. Staffed called me when it was ready and they put my bag in the room. Room was clean. Bathroom very large and luxurious. My room had two twin beds. Unusual for a hotel today, but it was OK for me since I was alone and traveling on business. There is a patio on the lobby floor that overlooks the city. It's a nice place to sit and talk. This hotel can be very expensive. Look for deals. I paid $252 pre tax for one night.

I didn't enjoy my stay. Not typical for a Four Seasons property. Why?

- ridiculous to charge $15 a day for internet when you are a premium hotel

- room size / design / price value was a disappointment - and I was on a conference rate!

- confused service in the breakfast restaurant (wrong ordered delivered each meal)

- terrible bar service. I had to wait 15 minutes today to have my area cleaned and order taken. No staff found at 11:00am - not busy. I had to chase them down.

On the plus side the gym is world class.

I can't believe this is the four seasons that I used to know and love.

Daddy's 4 Seasons design that is dark and low lighting, dreary and not bright and light like Seattle/Uruguay etc. Next time stay at the W. I recommend the Seattle 4Seasons, Chicago or the old 4 Seasons in Houston, now an Omni. But you have to be specific with these properties, they are not all fantastic and up to date like they used to be.

Room Tip: Move to the W.

Prime location, prime bar, and prime room. Right by union square and Chinatown. Bar was hopping at night. Room was clean and nice. I would consider this four seasons average relative to four seasons Spots I have stayed at though. Four seasons Denver is by far the best and most updated.

San Fran is consistently one of my most expensive destinations. They just don't have as many 5 star hotels as the city could use. The economy there is booming so it's especially tricky for last minute travelers- the nice hotels stay very busy.

The design of this hotel is a bit funky because you arrive on one level, then take the elevators to the lobby on another. it feels more compartmentalized.

Service here is a half-click under Four Seasons Las Colinas (my gold standard for Four Seasons).

Room Tip: Four Seasons suites have doors separating the sitting area from the bedroom so that there are two se...
