We stayed here for a few days before continuing a road trip around California. It was perfectly located for the main areas of San Francisco and for transport links, and we found a deal so we got one night for free.
The room was very clean and modern, with great views over the city on all sides, and the daily cleaning was performed excellently. I was sleeping in the pull-out sofa-bed in a suite room since there were three of us. It was very springy but still comfortable. We didn’t eat in the hotel except for a sandwich one day which was very good. The breakfast did look good and they offered complimentary hot drinks which were great before we needed to rush off after checking out. It definitely can’t be described as a family friendly hotel although there were a few staying. The gym looked great although we didn’t use it because of the age restrictions.
The staff were very helpful especially at the concierge where they all the nearby sites and stores and exactly how to get to them by public transport. We didn’t use the car park except for about an hour before leaving when we collected a hire car, and they were very prompt bringing it up from the car park. We found the hotel easily after coming off the BART train from the airport, which was very quick and great value. The location also meant that trains, trams and the cable car were very close to take you anywhere in the city.
The TV had a good selection of channels, although the picture quality of some of the channels was poor, while others seemed to be HD. The TV guide didn’t work on the main TV in our room which was disappointing. The hotel offered free wifi in the lobby by picking up a code from the staff there, which did also work in the room, however each code was limited to 3 hours. The mini-bar was very expensive like most hotels, however it would have been appreciated if some room had been left in the fridge for drinks which we had bought elsewhere.
Overall, the hotel was very good and we would definately recommend it to friends and family, although we might not have stayed there if we hadn’t received the offer that we did.
