“Beautiful, Friendly, Convenient.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We booked a last minute stay in San Francisco. The gentleman on the phone from Omni was very helpful and did get me the lowest price, although I opted for a more expensive room. The hotel staff are very genuinely happy and friendly as well as helpful. The steakhouse attached to the hotel has exceptional food! The room service food was delicious as well. We ordered breakfast the night before and had it delivered the morning of our travel day to save time. Chocolates on the pillows, personalized notes in your room from cleaning staff, beautiful bathrooms/showers, the whole nine. I do suggest you take their advice when calling valet for your car and call 10 minutes prior to when you'd like to leave. Maybe 15 during prime time. I would stay here and any other Omni again!

One of my favorite hotels in San Francisco. It's a first rate hotel in an excellent location. The amenities and service are great with a nice gym and free internet if you are an Omni Select Guest loyalty member.

Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, but if you're not in town on business there may be a better location for you. Located in the financial district downtown, there are lots of options for transportation (no trouble getting a taxi; the cable car outside can be touch-and-go depending on time of day it may be PACKED; walking can be a hike to tourist spots) but not a whole lot of nightlife around the area. I'm not a "club" person, but it would be nice to have some other options to grab a nightcap other then the hotel bar. The staff is really helpful and able to answer any question you have, for example the Concierge helped us to book a day trip to Muir Woods/Sausalito in 5 minutes and the doorman flagged down a 5am cab for us to get to the airport. Also was a little disappointing that there wasn't a spa, but found a GREAT place in Japan town (more in another review). Overall it's a really nice place so evaluate what your needs are (location, for example) to see if it's right for you.

I really want to love the Omni San Fran! The location is good (Financial District/ Japan/ China Town), the building is nice, the linens, and bathroom were amazing! I do have one small gripe, which depends on whether you like your morning coffee. The hotel doesn't have coffee makers in the rooms, which is typical for expensive lodging, but additionally, their lobby coffee service ends at 6:30AM! Yep, you read this right. So, when you wake up, and want coffee, the only way to get it apparently is to order room service or go down for breakfast at Bob's. Small thing, but it made a poor impression especially given my experience with similar hotels in the area.
Other than that, keep in mind that if you book through Hotels.com/ Expedia.com you will likely get a room without a view. We did get a great deal on the room, so no complaints on the view. The Omni's valet is actually cheaper than other similar hotels in the area, and the overall service is really nice. The front desk staff was extremely polite.
Bottom line, if you don't drink coffee in the morning, you would absolutely love this hotel!

Room Tip: It seems that if you book through Hotels.com or Expedia.com you will not get a room with a nice view...

Thank you so much for your kind review, rony-bonbony. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at the Omni San Francisco. I do apologize for the lack of coffee maker in your room, that should not have been the case as each of our rooms are equipped with coffee makers. In addition, we offer a few other ways to get your morning coffee, including complimentary beverage delivery with your Select Guest membership and complimentary coffee in Bob's Bar until 10 AM. I am so sorry that you were not offered the opportunity to utilize these options during your visit. (I would love to get you signed up for our Select Guest membership and would be happy to do so if you email me directly at wjcoale@omnihotels.com.)

Thank you, again, for your review and I hope we have the chance to welcome you back to the Omni San Francisco in the future!

We really loved staying here. The location is a bit off of Union Square, but that didn't bother us at all. The shopping there is pretty much what we have at home, so we didn't end up spending much time there anyway. It is definitely still within walking distance. The service was wonderful...Conceirge, Lex, was very helpful; as was everyone we came in contact with. The bellman had a great personality and we really had fun seeing him downstairs. Would definitely recommend this hotel. We really enjoyed our visit!

The best customer service we've received. Really elegant hotel, and lovely room which looks exactly as shown in the photos and has the most comfortable bed imaginable . Huge, huge thanks to Yulia at the front desk who could not have been more helpful, managing to get us tickets to Alcatraz when everywhere else had sold out but most of all, after mentioning in passing that we happened to be celebrating our first wedding anniversary on this trip to Yulia arranged for a beautiful arrangement of Champagne, strawberries with chocolate, robes, slippers and petals on the bed and very sweet hand written note wishing us a happy anniversary. We came back from a day out exploring to find the nicest welcome back to our room. Has made the end of our trip extra special and our stay here has been faultless.

It is also in a good location for everything you Could need and its a lovely walk to fisherman's wharf, pier 39 etc. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would gladly stay again. It isn't cheap by any stretch but we found other hotels that are not half as nice are charging the same.

Had a lovely stay at the Omni San Francisco. Hotel has a traditional feel that is elegant and welcoming. AAA rate was decent, parking was 58.00 for the night, and restaurants within easy walking distance. Concierge pointed us in the direction of Wayfare Tavern for dinner, 2 blocks from the hotel. Excellent!!! Also walked to the Ferry Building, as Cowgirl Creamery and Hog Island Oyster Company always beckon.
Room was well appointed, beds were comfortable, bathroom immaculate, what you expect from the Omni brand. Good choice in San Francisco.
