“Great service and nice room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We just spent 3 nights at this hotel in San Francisco. The hotel is very nice and clean and the staff is really helpful and courteous! The price is ridiculous, as all hotel prices in San Francisco are, but we tried to find a property that would meet at least some of our criteria and not break the bank. It has a great location. We walked to Union Square for breakfast one morning and it was a nice walk. The hotel is located in a quiet area - Financial District - no one is working on the weekends, but the area felt safe and it was clean. It is just a short taxi ride to the Embarcadero which was nice. The breakfast buffet is ample and comes with a cook to order omelet station. However, the price is fairly steep at $18.95 per person. There is a Starbucks at the hotel as well. As with every hotel in SF, the parking is unbelievably ridiculous....but you are stuck there. $53 per night and no other parking near by. The valet attendants are slow, and you have no choice but to valet. All in all, the hotel was great. Service every where, including the breakfast staff, was very professional and friendly.

Room Tip: rooms on the top of the hotel are quieter and our 18th floor room had great city views

We spent two nights at this wonderful hotel! The location was excellent for touring San Fran! But what sold us was the parking deal! They offer a parking package that is very well worth looking into! Staff were friendly and helpful as we wanted more info on Bus Tours and taxis! 10min walk to Unio Square and some fanstastice shopping! Excellent hotel!!!!

Arrived here on a Sunday afternoon after a long flight from Amsterdam. Although it was before 3pm, we were given access to one of our two rooms, with a nice view of the Bay Bridge. The other room (with 2 queen beds) looked onto the rooms on the other wing of the hotel and not the bridge but both were comfortable and clean.

Our party appreciated the hotel's relaxed atmosphere, with guests free to use the luggage carts to take their baggage to their rooms personally. Staff were friendly and always quick to respond when called upon - e.g.: for room service on our third night. The Starbucks in the lobby was a welcome additional feature.

By way of constructive feedback, however, I would add that the hotel - in certain respects - perhaps fails to strike the perfect balance between catering for guests on business and guests on vacation. On a number of our five nights, housekeeping arrived just after 8am and, while they were happy to return later, we felt unable to lie in as late as might otherwise have. Likewise, the Starbucks closed fairly early in the day.

Overall - a great base for a few days exploring San Francisco. Would return.

Thank you for your kind review of our hotel. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and found your room accommodations very comfortable and clean. I agree, our location is great; just a few short blocks to so many great San Francisco attractions. Thanks also for the constructive feedback regarding how early housekeeping starts and the early closure of Starbucks. I will certainly communicate this to our staff. Again, many thanks for taking the time to send us your review! Debbie Bonafede, General Manager, 415-486-6401

We just spent a week at the Courtyard and were really happy with our choice. We booked through the hotel and got a really good deal. The locations is great - a 10 minute walk to Market Street, a 5 minute walk to Yerba Buena Gardens (awesome playground for kids). We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The pool is a bit small and shallow (the deepest part is 3.5 ft) and even though the front desk staff assured us that the pool is heated, it is NOT. It was really cold in there and nothing to do with the air temperature as one of the front desk staff tried to tell me. If it weren't for the freezing cold pool I would have given this hotel an excellent rating (5/5). The staff were helpful and friendly and we had a lovely room on the 15t floor with an awesome view of the city. There is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby which, for some bizarre reason, closes at 4 pm. Long lines there in the morning. There is a breakfast buffet in the hotel which is reasonably priced at $19.95 but we just can't eat that much food to make it worth it. Finding a close breakfast place was a bit difficult and a 7 minute walk. The bar serves snacks and light meals from 5 pm on. This same food can be ordered for room service for a very reasonable and non-room service-like price! I found that our beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Bay Bridge on the upper floors.

The hotel was sufficient for our needs - clean, spacious, and beds with comfortable too. But definitely not luxurious.
It's about an 8-10 minute walk north to Market Street, where the action is, and 2 blocks away from the main buses Very close by to other attractions such as the Yerba Buena Ctr for the arts, Moscone Ctr, cinema & the City Target.
Their staff is friendly enough & quite helpful.
Point to note: grabbing breakfast at Starbucks in the lobby is almost impossible in the mornings unless you don't mind waiting 20-30 minutes

we had a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 adults and 2 kids - very spacious, massive bathroom area, some kitchen facilities (not for cooking), kids used the sofa bed - was a comfortable, spacious stay. bar and restaurant downstairs were excellent as well - very convenient, great menu and wines. would definitely stay there again - location was great for fishermans wharf, AT&T park - was very busy with the baseball season. Swimming pool was good too.

Room Tip: corner suites as 1 bedroom were great

Here for four nights on business in Financial District. This hotel is close to that area and the stadium, so that might explain the price. However, the entire neighborhood shuts down between Friday and Monday. Basically a ghost town in the immediate area. Clearly focuses on weekday, financial community. Hotel is OK. Acoustics are poor - I could hear my neighbors speaking, running their sink, etc. You are a good walk from anywhere, but it is fun to walk in SF and you can treat yourself to some great meals. But, be warned, you are four long blocks from Market. Flight crews appear to stay here because it is the first stop on Airport Van Shuttles, also the last on the way to the airport, which is convenient. I took BART which has a close stop on Market, trying to save my client some money! An expensive hotel town, unless going the Giants or the Financial district, I'd shop around for a better location - price.

Room Tip: Noisy street with crowds coming to and from the game. Maybe higher floors would also give you a view...
