First, let's set the record straight. Irish coffee was NOT invented here. It may well have been made for the first time in America at this particular bar but...It seemed only right to order one as it's a favourite. Really not good. First, brown sugar should be used with Irish whiskey (not whisky), then very strong black coffee (not lukewarm weak filter) and then finally CREAM not the thin stuff that tasted like it had never seen a moo-cow before. This is where you use double cream so that it sits on the top of the coffee, looking exactly like Guiness which is what it was designed for. To be fair, the atmosphere is fun and noisy but not on the same level as your average Irish/British pub.
