“Ideal Place to stay while in San Fran”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This Hotel lived up to the reviews I read prior to our stay and more. Taxis stop right outside so no need to go looking for one. The tours booking desk at the hotel is very helpful and book tours and give advice on what you are keen on.
Breakfast is served daily - good variety and loved the pancake machine (yes there maybe a wait on getting seat, but then what Hotel doesn't have this problem first thing in the morning) Rooms are clean, quiet and staff are friendly.
Handy to the Fisherman's Wharf area at easy walk - you feel very safe walking round this area, close to a variety of tourist type shops and eateries
Only problem was four nights wasn't quite long enough to take in all the sites

Room Tip: Go for the middle of range price room, that way you can't go wrong

This hotel is less than two blocks from the beginning of Fisherman's Wharf.
We had a wonderful check-in experience with a very friendly staff.
They had wonderful recommendations for dinner. The room was nice with windows that open so we could enjoy the cool air off the bay. It was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go, but we were also very close to a cable car turnaround.
The parking is valet only and very pricey but the hotel was worth it. We booked our room with points and still had a very nice room in a lower traffic area. Really nice location.

Room Tip: Corner room was low traffic area.

Fantastic staff! Great location! Varied breakfast choices. Uncomfortable beds. Not very quiet.

Our check-in was wonderful. Valet parking was full, but we were rerouted to a nearby garage that was $15 a day cheaper, so we ended up keeping the car there. The hotel front desk staff were FANTASTIC! Offered to associate our reservation with our IHG Rewards (which I'd forgotten to do), and provided many excellent suggestions for meals.

Location was fantastic - walking distance to Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square and other tourist spots.

Our room (family suite) was spacious and clean. Pocket door to the bathroom was unusual, but enough towels and toiletries for a family of four (2 adults, 19 year old and 14 year old).

Our room had two double beds and a sofa bed, and we used all of those. Very uncomfortable night's sleep - just not enough bed space for four people, and a sofa bed is never comfortable. Also, our room faced North Point Street, and there was a lot of traffic noise (including garbage trucks) early in the morning. We were at the end of a hallway, which we thought would be quiet, but we could also hear a lot of door slamming in the morning.

Breakfast was average to above average. Different cereal choices (Special K with red berries!) and delicious cinnamon rolls. Lots of typical choices - biscuits, gravy, turkey sausage, muffins, toast, bagels, yogurt, apples, bananas, juices, coffee, etc. Automated pancake maker - makes pancakes as you wait - but they didn't taste very good. Scrambled eggs also tasted bad - weird texture and sometimes cold. Ran out of bacon our second day there. Breakfast only lasts until 9:30 am, which was a struggle for our teenagers.

DON'T do the open air double decker bus advertised at the concierge desk. You are better off doing public transportation - get the Hop Stop app. The bus takes a LONG route around town and gets stuck in traffic (especially at the GG Bridge). They also don't tell you that MANY buses do not have LIVE GUIDES - you are given headphones to listen to a canned speech.

We would definitely consider staying here again because of the location, but only if we had enough "real" beds for each person. Sleeping comfortably is a big deal for our family!

The room is nice and clean, no bar on premises but there is a nice bar right across the street at the Hyatt. 5 min walk down to Fisherman's Wharf. The breakfast was what you'd expect from the included Continental - skip it if you can. Lots of places around to have a better dining experience.

This is a great hotel right in the heart of all the action in San Francisco! It is a perfect location for all the touristy things that you might want to do ie Alcatraz, pier 39, union square etc! It is about a 2 minute walk to fishermans wharf where you will find all the bars, pubs and restaurants! You really do have everything on your doorstep here! By the looks of things the hotel has recently had an upgrade too, so the rooms are all very clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay here again is returning to San Francisco!

Stayed three nights here on my honeymoon and the location was perfect for access to fisherman's wharf. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was as good as can be expected. The concierge were friendly and I would recommend this as somewhere to stay for anyone due to its great location
