“Check in issues, small room and expensive parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

My family of 4 & another family of 4 traveling with us recently stayed for 4 nights. Upon arrival around 7pm we had to wait about 10 minutes as only 1 staff member was working which was fine. We both checked in and was given keys stating we were in room 60 & 66 on the second floor. After shuffling all our luggage and families to the 2nd floor our keys wouldn't work in one room and someone else was in one. Used the phone in the hallway to call reception and was told we were in the wrong building and had to go out the front and round the corner to the holiday inn. Not impressed. Upon arriving there the elevators wouldn't with with our room cards. Had to ask a staff member for help and after a phone call we were told to go back to where we come from and were actually booked into the 1st floor. We hadn't misinterpreted floor numbers as both families checked in separately. We had a double room each - very small with beds close together and not much walking room on one side of the bed. Location was good to walk to the piers on fisherman's Wharf. Parking us difficult to get and expensive. Hotel valet parking a bit hefty at $48 per night + tax.

This hotel served my purpose but if you're looking for anything really nice, this isn't it. It is clean, personnel were friendly and efficient (if overworked and understaffed at times when it gets busy), beds & bathrooms clean and comfortable enough, decor mostly non-existent, breakfast bar more than expected even though quality was on the level of slightly less than or equal to a Denny's.

Stay here for the location and price and you won't be disappointed. If you want more- look elsewhere.

We had done an advance purchase booking with the hotel for 4 nights in a family suite, but we decided to try to get a room that had 3 beds, so on arrival I asked whether we could amend our advance purchase booking. The gentleman on the front desk was very accomodating and offered to arrange alternate rooms and to just use our advance purchase as a credit against the rooms. There was no charge for changing.
The rooms seemed newly renovated and the beds were very comfortable. Our room looked straight into another room so there was no view or outlook, but that was fine for us as we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.
The buffet breakfast was quite adequate (we had yoghurt, cereal and toast so I can't say what the hot food was like) and it was nice to be able to take a coffee away with you. Lots of others were taking breakfast to their rooms, and trays were provided for that, although there were plenty of tables when we were there.
The only fault in the stay was that there were only two lifts to service the hotel, and when one broke down it made for some queues. But everyone was friendly and made the best of it.
The location is good - it is quite close to the Fisherman's Wharf area and many restaurant options. There are a number of hotels located in the same area that are much more expensive than this hotel and I can't imagine what more they could offer over our stay that would justify the extra cost. For us it was ideal.

Room Tip: Ask for the 4th floor - the lifts often filled on floor 4 in the mornings meaning those on lower flo...

My Family and I stayed in this hotel for just one night on a weekend get away to San Francisco. The couple in the room next door fought all night and nothing was done about it. When I asked the front desk about it they ignored it and did nothing about it or said anything n an apology.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Clean and welcoming hotel. Staff are very friendly and service was good.

Rooms are comfortable, lots of space and comfortable beds.

Excellent location very close to Pier 39 and main tourist area. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

Recommend Denny's for breakfast, even if a bit pricey, it's open 24 hours - great if like me you have jet-lag and waking up at 4.30am!

Would definitely stay here again, easy to explore San Francisco on foot.

Our family stayed here for 4 nights in December 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the location is perfect. You are just far enough away from hustle and bustle of the wharf precinct, but close enough for a walk to resturants and attractions. The buffet breakfast was a great start to the day, and very pleasant with a great variety. I would definitely stay again!

We originally booked three nights but ended up staying five. Facilities have recently been updated and are as displayed on website. Breakfast free every morning is a real draw card with a good selection. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Short walks to all attractions in the area. Only fault we could find was that there was no Laundry facilities, you needed to go to the holiday inn next door.

Would definitely stay there again.
