“Dark rooms, no view at all but service & cleanliness made it 'very good'.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

I stayed here on my second trip to SF as it provided a cheaper rate than the holiday inn next door which I stayed in the first time.
However, you do get what you pay for. The room was really dark and when I opened the curtains my view was a square of other hotel rooms, I felt very blocked in and small in the room. However, it was very clean just like the whole hotel. The only reason I gave this hotel a very good and not average was because of the service, from the moment we entered the hotel to the moment we left, the staff were so pleasant and cheerful, very easy to have a conversation and joke with. Just what you need on a vacation.
Another tip: don't use the valet parking as the prices are ridiculous, I can't remember the exact price but even the valet staff said to us that the prices were expensive. Luckily for me I did my research before going to this hotel and found out you can park at the multi storey on fishermans wharf 24/7 and get a pass which lets you in and out whenever you like much much cheaper than the hotel so go and check that out.

Took a trip to San Fran for my birthday and decided on this hotel as got it at a good rate. We also looked at the Holiday Inn next door, but the fact that the express included free breakfast and wi fi was what made it a winner.

I was reluctant a first as for some reason I always thought that Holiday Inns were cheap and tacky, but the hotel was actually great although basic.

As stated in previous reviews, the location is awesome. Two blocks away from the main fisherman's wharf area and a very short walk to pier 39. Two blocks in the other direction and you will find the cable car turnaround point. Lombard street (zig zag road) was also just a short walk away. There is a Walgreens close by and many restaurants.

The rooms were spacious and kept immaculately clean. Telly was fine but could of done with a few more channels. Bathroom was rather noisy when you turn the light on (air con or something?) but this didn't bother us.

The free wi fi is only accessible from the lobby which was a tad annoying as would be so much more beneficial if you could pick up the signal in your room.

The free breakfast wasn't all that, but at the low price your paying to stay there you can't really expect much more! The lobby was jam packed every morning and we only managed to get a table on the second day. We ended up just grabbing an orange juice and cinnamon bun each every morning and taking them back up to room.

Reception staff were excellent, and the friendliest I have ever come across. Were a great help in assisting us with ire toons and useful tips.

Overall i would say the hotel is great if you purely just want a bed to stay in every night in a great location. Wi Fi in the Roos would be even better. Would definitely say there again.

We stayed here last year as a stopover on our way to Hawaii. This is your average Holiday Inn Express except for the fact that it is located in the Fisherman Wharf’s area of San Francisco. This is of course a huge plus because you can walk to all the fantastic nearby attractions. Also within walking distance are a couple of grocery stores and several restaurants.

We didn’t try the complimentary breakfast which was included with our room, but it appeared quite popular as evidenced by the large crowd every morning. If you want to stay in this part of San Francisco for a decent price, this hotel is a good choice.

Stayed here for two nights - actually am in the room now leaving the review. Check-in was on a Sunday morning and they let us in early. They were very busy so I was surprised. The location of the hotel is EXCELLENT. Close to everything. You don't need a car at all.

The hotel is clean and in good repair. Having wifi ONLY in the lobby is unacceptable. So, too, is the amount of noise you hear in the rooms from others in the hall, the doors closing, toilets flushing, etc. Unacceptable. I suppose that they get away with it based on where they are located.

B-fast in the morning is good - lots of options. Exercise room is basic and dated. They have two computers available for use a a spot to check-in for flights. There is not shuttle to the airport. Figure on $16-$17 per person, one-way.

I am not sure that I would come back. I think I would find space at the four other hotels in the area if I could be sure it was quieter and wifi was included in the rooms.

Room Tip: Lots of choices for food and beverage in short walking distance. Trolly drops you off 1 block from...

stayed 2 nights and was very pleased. the hotel is only 2 blocks from the wharf, and a short walk to ghirardelli square. plenty of restaurants, tourist shops, and a walgreens nearby we had a king room that was very spacious, and clean.breakfast was good and had a nice selection.
there is free wifi in the lobby only, free wired internet in the room.
my only issue is that there was no coffee available during the day. other hotels at the same level have coffee 24 hrs. as i am up at 530 am it would be nice to grab a cup of coffee before breakfast is ready, and a cup to relax with when returning from a day of sightseeing.
