Here was the challenge: We had friends visiting from overseas who have been to the Bay Area many times. We've taken them to all kinds of places on previous visits, and were struggling for what to do with a total of 4 adults, 4 kids (ranging in age from 6 to 14). I had read many of the reviews and thought it sounded promising, but was nervous about splashing out for 8 tickets without being sure. So I contacted Peter the magician directly. He reassured me it was good for the range we had, and I took the plunge.
What a great evening we had. I'm pretty sure it was one of the highlights if not THE highlight of the trip for our friends.
The nice thing about the experience is it feels so personal. Before the show in the salon where we had drinks and appetizers, Peter comes around and meets everyone and gets some information, plus he does some close tabletop tricks. After that, when we moved into the theater we were fortunate enough that with 8 of us, we took up the entire front row!
Peter definitely involves the audience - he was sure to involve at least one person from every party in the small house, and in our case, many of us were engaged in small or bigger ways.
Biggest laugh for us was when the 14 year old was on stage with him disco dancing and pulling a seemingly endless stream of colored handkerchiefs from his mouth. Its one of the oldest tricks in the magician's arsenal, but as he mugged and rolled his eyes and they synchornized their shimmies, we were practically in tears laughing.
