“Good VEGETARIAN”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We were looking for a good curry, and found it in Udupi Palace but didn't realize it was strictly vegetarian until we were already seated. We could have done with some protein but still enjoyed the meal. Good value, thankfully too since it's CASH ONLY.

“Dosa without the cleanliness”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

This place used to be really good, but the last few years have not been kind. Udu is now run down and dirty and kind of sad. Oy.

“Southern Indian at its finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Hugely authentic. I'm not sure I've been to a more authentic Indian restaurant in the US yet, nor have I found many others featuring the food of the southern region. Lots of spice, lots of spicy, and LOTS of amazing flavor combinations! The best part is that it is cheap! Also, you can have a delicious mango or salt lassie, which is harder to find in certain parts of the US. It's cash only, so bring your bills.

“Nice place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012 via mobile

It's a small udipi joint located in Berkeley.
They do sell awesome Rasam soup. Should not be missed.
Quite ok to visit if you are at Berkeley.

“Awesome vegetarian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

Not a candle light dinner place but great and lively atmosphere of Valencia at the best vegetarian restaurant of the area.
