“Great flavors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

This weekend was our 4th trip to Lavash, and we continue to enjoy the delicious flavors and choices at this fine Persian restaurant. The Fesenjan (stew in pomegranate sauce) was superb, and the kababs joojeh and koobideh were tender, moist and great. The faloodeh for dessert (frozen noodles with rose water and lime) is absolutely unique to Persian fare, and shouldn't be missed. The restaurant is quite small, so reservations are highly recommended on weekends or holidays.

“Dining and Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Came in to the City last night to have dinner with my best friend of 50 years, from Walnut Creek and decided to try Lavash based on Yelp reviews. Arrived at 6:30 without reservations (who would have thought you would need them on a Tuesday night?). The lovely woman that greeted us jumped through a few hoops and led us to a table with a smile on her face even though it did create a bit of a problem, she never showed it. To be honest at first we felt a little funny since the restaurant is so cozy and romantic, but we were there to eat, not hold hands!
Coming from Walnut Creek my standard for Persian food is Kabob House on Newell and Lavash came real close.Roasted eggplant starter was creamy and garlicky....perfect. We split the chicken (white meat) and koobideh kabobs. The koobideh is out of this world good, flavorful and moist. The chicken was flavorful, but a bit on the dry side which is where Kabob house shines. Also the rice seemed a bit dry or perhaps a tad overcooked. By chopping up the grilled tomato and mixing it in the rice with a bit of sumac, it was better.
Excellent food, lovely and engaging server, nicely done dining room made for a wonderful "bromantic" experience. I definately will return with reservations and my wife!

“I love Lavash”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

This is my favorite restaurant in the Inner Sunset - everything they serve here is delicious. Great, cozy atmosphere as well. Just make sure you make a reservation at least a day ahead - they fill up fast! Highlights: Kashk-e Bademjan, Tadig with stew (we got the vegetarian option), Mast-o Musir (it's delicious eaten with the rice!), and Joojeh. The black tea is delicious as well, as an end to your meal. Going here is always a treat.
