“Clam chowder?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Famous for their clam chowder in a bread bowl, I had high expectations. The clam chowder was really good. Flavourful clams and thick soup with chunks of potato! If only, there was more. There was too much bread. The bread should have been cut out abit more or the bread pressed down tp make space for the chowder. Nothing of the sort happened so all i got was a huge hunk of bread with a slick of chowder. Not good in my books.

The bread was good though. At least they got that but right.

“Interesting stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

As you walk by on the sidewalk you watch the bakers making the sourdough items. From Teddy bears to lobsters. There was a huge Alligator made from bread dough in the window to draw your attention. You then enter the building where you can sit and eat in a large eating area. (self serve), on the other side you can go upstairs and have a meal (after 5). This is more of a evening lounge restaurant with big screen T.V's, seating in tables or at the bar. We had waffles for breakfast one day and they were different as they were made from sourdough. They were okay. The next day we stopped by a had chowder in a sour dough bread bowl. This was very filling and very tasty. They serve you bread before your meal which in itself is filling. They are famous for their chowder in a bread bowl, and we could see why. We ate there twice as it's on the wharf and convenient.

“Great !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I'm raving about the food. Pizza for kids - Good eats for adults. Good prices for the area. Fun on the 2nd floor with a view of the Bay. Outdoor tables on the Bay side for a good view without any obstructions close by, so photo ops available. Parking next door not too pricy if there's an opening (get there early) and don't forget to take home bakery items like crab shaped loaves of bread to show off to all of your friends. Food is yummy, price is right. Bar in side. Kids can sit at counter and watch pizza being made - keeps them entertained and let's parents chat amongst themselves. Not stuffy, open, light, airy. (A bit noisy).

“Ugh, wharf restaurant taking advantage of their location....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We ate in the restaurant instead of the cafe. Was told wait would be 20 minutes which turned into 40. Then the waiter got our order wrong or did he just up-size all of our sourdough bread bowls to increase our bill?!? He never refilled our drinks until they were completely empty, passed our table 4 times and we had to flag him down.
Bread bowls were good but stick to the clam chowder instead of the crab and corn bisque. But we had to try this place out since it has been here forever. Plus, the bread in the window in the shapes of animals was cute to look out. There is also a gift show.
Would probably try somewhere else the next time.
