“Good small museum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

The selection of art was exceptionally good, but the museum was small enough that everything could be comfortably seen in 2 to 3 hours. It is not one of those giant museums that you can never finish. Getting there is easy on the city bus. Remember that the museum is free on Tuesdays. The restaurant is upscale, but you have to allow a bit of extra time since it is not fast food.

“Anders Zorn exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

The Legion of Honor museum is wonderful at any time, the location and the building itself, but this was a wonderful exhibition of this great artist (I am partial being a swede), but I think most people who were there would share my opinion. Go see it, and in the price you get to see all these other beautiful artifacts on display. We found out that if you have a Bank of America card, you get a substantial discount too, great deal!

“Great destination for a day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

We used the Munii #1 California bus to travel from Nob Hill to Lincoln Park and the Legion of Honor. The art museum had a sweet Matisse exhibit and a wonderful Anders retrospective. Anders Zorns paintings were new to me and fabulous. His images with water are extraordinary. We also heard a fun organ concert and I was impressed by the array of grand Rodin statues. Definitely worth a visit. From there we took the Muni #18 and # 38 to Cliffe House to watch the sunset and have a glass of wine (California of course) . Then took the #38 back to Union Square and the streetcar home. A good day out.

“an elegant museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

I enjoyed the visit. Eventhough the place is not big and the exhibited objects are very selected, in terms of origin and history, I loved the place. It's a very elegant building and its location is one of the best in the City. A visit is recommended

“Nice gallery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Was a little disappointed that most of the gallery is exhibitions that you have to pay for but nonetheless there is some gems to look at! Recommend taking the lift up to get a panoramic view of the whole city.
