“An oasis in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

A real peaceful and stimulating art collection out near the bay. Nice collection of ceramics, medieval art, and Rodin. Lots of paintings from Europe. Go on a sunny day to walk around the surrounding park, with views of Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.

“Outstanding collection. Quality over quantity.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

That said, the quantity of Rodin sculptures is as amazing as the quality of the other works in this museum.
Several Rembrandts, Hals, Whistler, and a quite surprising David. The Bouguereau "Broken Pitcher" was stunning in person.
Those are some highlights. See the collection yourself. It is just wonderful.
I am not sure if it is part of the museum officially, but right next to it is something that shouldn't be missed (whether one goes to the museum or not): The highly moving George Segall Holocaust memorial sculpture.

“Beautiful inside and out!”

Amazing art inside, amazing views outside! The Cafe has elegant (and expensive) food. Lots of special events on weekends for all ages to enjoy.

“Amazing Museum and what a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

I saw The Cult of Beauty exhibit and I loved it. The Museum is not too big and doesn't feel overwhelming. The building is beautiful and in a gorgeous setting. Hilltop in quieter side of the city with an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was the best afternoon I spent in SF.

“good selection of art”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

The setting is nice; great views. The art selection is small but interesting. Strolling the grounds makes the trip worthwhile.
