“Great Blues and Southern Cusine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

I found this place on Tripadvisor and when I realized it was right next door to our hotel we decided to check it out on a resecent trip to San Fran. We went on a Monday night which I think is the night they showcase local up-and-comers. The band we saw were playing together for the first time but they were great. We arrived early for dinner but by the time they started the room filled up quickly.

The food was typical southern Cusine and being from Australia we were keen to try it. We had the assorted appetizer and shared it between two. Even though it was all fried, the favors were great. We then had the fried chicken and pulled pork for mains. Both meals were very tasty and the portion sizes very generous.

It was a great night out listening to jazz and blues, drinking cocktails and eating home style southern food.

If you are after something a little different when in San Fran I recommend this place.

“Off Night, Perhaps?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

When I went in, there was a terrible singer and the place was practically empty. Too bad, because I love the blues.

“Awesome show was Awesome!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Made the executive decision to go to this restaurant/venue after seeing that Steve Lucky and Carmen Getit were playing there on a Friday Night.

Seating was awesome as always, a nice romantic booth proved to be a good thing for the date I was on.

The drinks were served promptly and expertly made... the Bluesmopolitan is to die for but you should only have one. Two or more will cause dancing and goofiness.

Had a Blackberry/Peach Cobbler that also, was to die for.

Highlight of course was the show, the band put on a good hour and a half set of pure music, took a quick break and then did it again.

“Very cool blues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

We went to Biscuit & Blues on our last night in San Francisco. This venue features great blues music with dinner (southern cooking), with two shows a night, 8PM and 10PM. We chose the 10PM show and mostly everyone had already eaten by then, so that was alittle uncomfortable, but there were others eating this late. We chose to eat that late after we received a text message stating that their was a two drink minimum, plus we misunderstood that their was a $15 minimum food per person--turns out there is, but only for the 8PM Friday & Saturday night shows. I have to say the food was so good, we had a mac & cheese Croquets appetizer. My husband had the fried chicken and I had the Dungeness Crab Cakes -- really delicious. The act we saw was Earl Thomas and the Blues Ambassadors. They were great! Apparantly they play there once a month. We can highly recommend them, really, really good and so much put into their performance. I would definitely go see them again.

“Always Worth It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

We have gone to Biscuits and Blues five times now and loved it every time. The entertainment is always good and the food is excellent. Be sure and try the sweet potato fries! This jazz/blues club is centrally located in the Union Square area and provides an intimate setting.
