“great shopping!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Lot's of great shopping! tons of stores along the street as well as a massive mall with even more great shopping (UMM Bloomingdales!)
Lots of places to grab a bite as well or sit down and eat too. Great place to go if you're an avid shopper

“Tons of shopping and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

The BART takes you here, as does the cable car. There are tons of retail stores and places to eat. There's also a mall with a great food court (Westfield San Francisco), so if you're looking for something quick to eat it's worth a stop.

Easily accessible, great people watching and lots of shopping.

“Lot's of good shopping possibilities.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

Lots of stores and it is near many museums and restaurants. You can catch the cable cars here too. It is a central location to start exploring San Francisco. Lot's of traffic and many one way streets around there. Better to WALK and/or take all the public transportation - which is excellent - and leave your car parked for your stay in San Fran.

“San Francisco's prime retail area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Short $2 trip with free transfer on City bus from Fisherman's wharf. Large Westfield shopping plaza with a huge number of speciality shops & two major discount department stores in Walgrens & Marshalls nearby on opposite side of Market Street . Cnr Powell & Market street is the start of the famous Cable Car which will take you down through Union Square & onto Fisherman's wharf. A must for visitors but if you don't get a seat be prepared to hang on tightly. Some keen commuters even ride the cable car on the outside platforms.

“Stroll through the Wall Street of the west”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

You could argue that this is the main throughfare of the city. So much of the cities financial blood is on this street and in this general area. The BART runs under this street for quite some distance, and has multiple entry/exit points. The shopping, up and down the street, is high end and will require a serious cash outlay. The eateries are plentiful and varied, so you can get whatever you want. As with nearly everything in San Francisco, the best part of being in this area is the people watching. Being in the heart of the Financial district and it's distinctive skyscraper's can provide hours of enjoyment. Plus, it's close location in relation to many of the other city highlights is a definitive plus.
