We have stayed here several times, and it has always been consistently a great hotel. It has lovely views and rooms. Great service and location by Union Square. Impeccable views from the bar. Comfortable beds!

Typical Marriott quality. Reasonably clean, good housekeeping service. Even with room by elevators, relatively quiet. We were in town for a family wedding and the location was very convenient. We ate breakfast at the diner on the corner since it was half the cost of the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Great size room for being in the city. 25th floor had no street noise and some good between building views.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor and request a view.

I mostly travel for business and Marriott's are usually out of my employer's price range so I have rarely stayed in one. But friends were visiting San Francisco so I booked the Marriott for one night to see them. I stayed here years ago when it was a Crowne Plaza. Marriott did a total renovation and it's a lot nicer now. I booked a "partial view" room but when I arrived they upgraded me to a junior suite, because I had joined the rewards club. Great corner room on an upper floor with a view of the bay and Coit Tower. Good location downtown although there are many homeless persons sleeping on the streets. But that's common all over town. If you can afford the price, it's a great place to stay.

Stayed in a high floor with good view. Very clean. Size of the room for 3 people ok. Noisy nighbourhood but doesnt bother inside the room. Lots of places to have breakfast around. Easy to take the cable car. Close to hundreds of shops of Union Square. Very smily and helpful staff. Easy check in. Parking extremally expansive: 51 dollars per day plus taxes. Would stay again but not with car.

Although the hotel cost was ridiculously high because of the conference in town the stay was comfortable and convenient! This was my second stay at this location and its pretty consistent! The location is convenient and the rooms are clean!

Nice hotel in a very busy area. Great location to be close to many shops and restaurants, also not far from the BART, streetcar and cable car stops. Nice room and very comfortable bed. Booked well in advance of the trip and got the room for the same rate that other friends paid for rooms that were not as nice.

I love staying at this hotel, it is in a great location, it is clean and modern, and the right rooms have amazing views. This time I had a decent view, but I was so busy that I didn't spend much time in the room. The concierge lounge was nicely staffed. The very first time I stayed at this hotel, before I really had any Marriott Status, I was upgraded to a Jr. Suite on a low floor, and the view was incredible - looking onto the foggy street, it was beautiful. I am platinum now, but have never had as good a room. However, the rooms are always fine. The hotel restaurant is adequate, but it is a sin to rely on the hotel for food in a city like San Francisco.
