This place was so gross. It smelled terrible, there were stains on the floor, and it felt dirty. I wanted to leave the moment I got there, but couldn't because we booked in advance. There are better hotels in the same price range. Choose another hotel. Don't make this mistake. It will taint your impression of San Francisco.

Stopped at this hotel for the night on a recent move. It was a great deal, in the city, and had pretty good reviews. The check in was easy and there was parking provided for guests. The walls were thin, but it really wasn't a problem once everyone was in bed around 10p. The rooms itself seems to have been renovated recently, or was at least in decently good shape, but the bathroom had some wear. It actually reminded me a lot of being at home, instead of in some random hotel on vacation. We had a great night's sleep, great shower and great service.

I still recommend this hotel anytime, but only if you are carless or can park up top instead of in the covered parking garage. Unfortunately, even after a fantastic stay, my van was broken into. We were on a move up the coast and three men came and took a lot of person items, memories, and almost all of my clothes in 5 minutes time, even with cameras! Since it was covered, lit, with cameras, we figured there would be no problem, but I guess not. I'm not sure what was happening in the office at 4:45a that prevented them from seeing the suspicious people enter and setup for the heist, but clearly they were not watching the cameras. The neighborhood I have heard mixed things about, but I do suggest that if you have a car, definitely stay out towards the Golden Gate or outside of the city itself. It is just not worth risking it in my opinion. The manager was fantastic handling the situation and don't want to put down the hotel, just want to warn future travelers. I hope I can save others some future stress.

In short, GREAT hotel if you don't plan on parking there!

We overlooked the dingy office, checked in and made our way to the room. The elevator was dingy and but had a cool retro door before the elevator, if it was just updated would be so awesome. The ratings here have it listed as 3 of 5 or average. There was nothing average about this room. The floor the black with filth. The grouting on the tiled sink was black with mildew. That was as far in the door we got. We turned around and headed back to the lobby. I told staff I wasn't happy with that room and we wanted to leave. He asked why and I told him it was not what we expected, i.e. filthy is everything. He was nice enough, but said everyone's opinion is different. He said he could not refund me that nights charge and offered me another room instead. He said this new room was completely renovated, to which we replied we thought the whole hotel was. He gave us another room to check out on the top floor which we reluctantly did being 9pm at night and homeless. This room had a shiny new door number, unlike the tattered numbers on the other rooms. To our surprise this was a two room suite with new carpet, what appeared to be new foam beds, new furniture and a completely redone bath with new bath surround with new fixtures and granite counter with double sinks. The only thing it didn't have was a new toilet, but it was nice enough. We stayed in that suite our scheduled two nights with no other issues. If you want to stay here Id look at the room before you sign anything! The room you get is either nice or dump from our experience.

These rooms were perfect for a family of 4, very spacious. Very comfortable beds. Fridge and microwave were very handy. The staff were super helpful and friendly. There was no breakfast included. Great value.

The hotel is very well located. We almost didn't use the car since most of the main touristy places were within walking distance, like union square, embarcadero, china town and the civic center. It was very neat and clean, rooms were huge and the bed was comfortable. It has wifi. I'd recommend this hotel.

It's a dive that last had money spent on it in the seventies by the look of it
Parking bay included if you can find one
Pimp and hookers doing business in the under croft car park (probably why you can't find a parking bay, cause the seventies style hipper van the pump drives is taking up space)
Carpet looks like it was bought second had from the local beer barn complete with stains as that squishy feel.
There's better out there even if you pay a few bucks more you'll be better off

This place was a great cheap hotel in the city right on the major bus line!

Check-in was quick and easy. The guy working the desk was funny and competent.

The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Everything looked fairly new and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean, with enough towels and hot water and good water pressure. There was a fridge and a microwave. TV worked well, even if it seemed all that was on was infomercials!

The parking was a little tight, but we later found out they have an underground garage for parking as well.

The best thing about this trip was that we decided to park & bus all weekend and this hotel is the perfect place to do that! The 47 goes right past the hotel and takes you directly to the wharf. Take it the other way and transfer to the 5 and you're on your way to the beach, Golden Gate Park and Haight Ashbury. Very easy and saves the headache of parking in the city.

Good little hotel. Will stay again!
