“Great deal for a SF stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

I would much rather spend my money on things other than where I sleep, I am not a very fussy person. That said, my room and bed, etc., were just fine--clean and comfortable, hot water, fridge and microwave. Aspects of hotel could be improved: registration desk and room are tiny, if there is a problem with one check-in, things get cramped and you might have a wait. The door to my room had many non-working locks from prior versions (now uses a key-card); in fact, though the door said to use a bolt/double lock, there was none). I did not feel insecure, however, the neighborhood seems fine. My room was on Broadway side, the traffic noise was not bad at all, mostly because windows and wall seemed to muffle most of it. I was attending a meeting at Moscone, the numbers 10 and 12 bus were very convenient, and a cable car not far away. I walked one gorgeous morning, great views along the way. Easy walk down to Ghiradelli Square and Fisherman's wharf. I learned after my first night that the nearby place to go for cafes, etc., is just one block over from Van Ness, on Polk. Everything you might need is there, not much on Van Ness itself, except traffic. This is one of the best hotel deals I have found in San Francisco.

Room Tip: I suspect rooms on the Van Ness side are noisier. I always bring earplugs but didn't need them...

The hotel is old, the elevator is old, but the worst was the bad smell of my room. It smells like s**t, really. The reception guy was gentle, but they have no more room available, so I just get out of the room ASAP and return later just to sleep.

We are four young people between 25 and 32 and booked there for three nights (820 dollers which was a bargain compared to the rest we found one night before in the internet). Unfortunately, the hotel was overbooked the first night and we had to go to a sister hotel called "Civic centre Motor Inn" which was terrible.

But beside this inconvinience and the fact, that the internet wasn't working all the time it was a great stay. Very close to the pier (walk = 20-30min) as well as to Union Square.

The rooms (4th floor) were very big (we had one for four person) and clean.

Parking is also available and we had no problems to find one. This helps a lot in SF!

Good motel, rooms equipped with first use stuff. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking places are not enough but I found one ) Sleeping well with closed widows, otherwise loud roads. Location is good to see get to any point of a city by walk. Only good memories...

We were really struggling to find affordable accommodation in San Fran, so when we found the Inn we booked straight away through their website, which offers a pre-pay discount @ 150+tax per night.

Once the booking was confirmed and the room paid i had another look at the reviews on google and trip
Advisor, which triggered second thoughts on my mind after reading stories of prostitutes, violence and break-ins. Is this the Crystal Palace from Breaking Bad? I was worried.

But once we arrived everything turned out to be ok. The check in staff was super friendly, they even reserved a parking spot in front of the office for our motorcycles, the rooms were fine and a cab ride to the square is just 10 bucks.

Only real downside was the put wifi which constantly cut out. Rooms were just partially cleaned (there was a used contact lens on the bed side table from a previous guest for the entire duration of our stay, plus the bathroom looked very tired.

But yeah, ok for 150 bucks in San Fran.

Great location but felt $199 per night was very high for the condition and amenities provided. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was included. There a lot of good restaurants in the area. The hotel was easy to find.

Our group of four women just stayed for four nights at the Inn on Broadway. We were a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but gave it a try anyway and are SO happy we did. The room was plenty big enough, the beds were very comfortable and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job. Having a fridge, microwave and coffee maker was perfect.

Our room was third floor, corner of Van Ness and Broadway. Yes, there is traffic noise but it's the city! We even slept with our window open so we could hear the sounds of the city. Location was great for us, right on a major bus line so getting where we wanted to go was very easy. We will definitely stay here again.
