This hotel is well located in San Francisco and is a good choice if you are visiting and have a car. There is car parking in the basement, but I was a little surpised that this was not secure, with the entry/exit driveway remaining open 24 hours.
The rooms were clean and reasonably spacious, but as noted by some other reviewers are a little dated. We had two rooms with one having a nice view to the Golden Gate bridge. One thing that was lacking in both of our rooms was a refrigerator, which was a pain if you just wanted to keep some drinks cool in the room. However we got by using the ice machines in the hotel. Free wifi was provided and it worked well.
The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Both the check in and check out processes were quick and painless. Staff also provided restaurant recommendations for some of the eateries nearby.
The location is good, with a great selection of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. There is a convenience/liquor store across the road which was handy. The walk to Fisherman's Wharf from the hotel probably took us about 30 minutes, and it's about 15 minutes (up hill) to the "crooked" part of Lombard Street.
Overall, we found the Conventry to be a good value and convenient place to stay in San Francisco.
