“Excellent hotel, great location, spacious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We were a group of 9 women that went to SFO for a long weekend getaway. Stayed in a 3 bedroom and had a great time! Enjoyed the amenities of the kitchen, went to the wine tasting and to the breakfast - all good. One thing I do not understand and never will - how does a high end hotel always have such sandpapery toilet paper? Please step it up. It seems to never matter how much I pay for a room, the toilet paper is never nice! This is such a little detail that so many people comment on and notice but rarely complain about. Half of the women in our group made the same observation!

Car was easy to get but wish we would have known that we should pre book the bikes!

If you want true throw back hotel as far as location, service, cleanliness...and can afford it, look no further.
This hotel is within walking distance to everything important in SF...
Food is very good, but if you are like me and after long days of meetings and contacts you've got to get out...this is you home away from home...every great restaurant is withing 2 miles and the waterfront...simple cab ride...the best

We had a lovely 8 nights here and our family enjoyed the location, extra space of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and the breakfasts included each morning.

All the staff were lovely and helpful; the small inclusions like umbrellas available for when it rained were appreciated.

If we were to visit San Francisco again we would return.

We loved everything about this place. We spent three nights there at the end of our honeymoon and it could not have been a more pleasant experience. The staff were helpful but not intrusive. The room (upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite) was very spacious, extremely tastefully decorated (if you like the modern aesthetic) and very well equipped (comfortable beds, washer and dryer, whcih came in handy at the end of a 4 week trip). The hotel far exceeded our expectations and really outshone all the other places we stayed on our trip (most surprisingly the Four Seasons Santa Barbara, which was average by comaprison). Would and will definitely recommend.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for 3 nights in between stays in Monterey and Napa. This was by far our favorite hotel. Everything was first class. The suite was modern and beautiful. Staff was very attentive, breakfast buffet outstanding. The location was extremely convenient to the wharf. We would definitely stay here again.

This spot is ideally located......beautiful property.
We couldn't get a bay view or balcony in our unit, which would have been fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel.
They have a car service that can basically take you anywhere in San Fran, and they will pick up and bring you back as well. Wish they had a restaurant or Bar on premises but there is a fair number of places around there.

We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and I’m really disappointed to be writing this review as I had gone with high hopes from previous reviews. The hotel is just in the wrong place, the location is really not good at all, felt like quite a tacky, touristy area, full of terrible restaurants. San Francisco is meant to be known for having amazing restaurants but the restaurants in this area are just awful. If you want decent food you really need a taxi to get there. Staff were friendly, apartment was nice enough, clean, spacious, has amazing views of the Alcatraz, comfortable bed, the house car was handy, but there were things about the hotel that were a bit disappointing for being $849 per night , for example there was no bath which was quite disappointing after sitting on a 10 hour flight to get there. The shower was terrible there was only a trickle of water coming out of it. Also we had a bay view residence but did not have the balcony I had expected. Just a few things like this, the hotel didn’t quite cut it for us.

Breakfast was good but it was very busy, sometimes quite hard to get a table as there is not much room. We enjoyed the wine tasting a couple of evenings.

If we ever end up in San Francisco again I will be looking for a hotel in a different area of the city.

We did The Real S.F. Tour which was a walking tour, it was fantastic and I can definitely recommend.
