This is one of the more spectacular views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, stunningly beautiful, actually. There is a walk all along the coastal ridge, from the bottom of the hill at the Golf Course, and all along to the Cliff House and the Traveler's Center, or the other way around. There is paved parking available on this end. The paths have been newly renovated, but the rugged coast is still so lovely it is breath-taking. I am a native, and still go on this walk on a lovely sunny day, any season! But, even in the winter, in the evening, with the fog rolling in or strings of clouds or mist, and the sunset..... still spectacular.... great if you are a photographer! The magic of this walk, you suddenly are in the country within seconds..... away from the clamor of the City behind you, and into the beauty and loveliness and ruggedness of the coast and of nature. I hope you have time to experience this. It is available on the 38 Geary Bus line that goes all the way from downtown, and back! . A very satisfying pick for an afternoon, if you had time for day-trips that do not leave the City.
