“Worthwhile stop in Golden Gate Park”

Lush plant life from all over the world. The building is a classic glass conservatory style, which is cool to see. All of the orchids were my favorite!

“Setting is everything”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

As mentioned before there are really no flowers in the conservatory of Flowers. However the buildings are made of wood, which makes them more interesting in my opinion. On our visit we did the docent tour. I wouldn't recommend going there with small children. This is not a touch and feel type of place. The docent tour was rather interesting. One kid in the group kept correcting the docent on plant names until his Mother asked him to stop. She got VERY upset when someones cell phone went off and absolutely cringed everytime she saw a kid touch a plant. Overall it was very entertaining! In the back was their Barbary Coast exhibit, which we pretty cheesy. Really out of place for such a dignified looking institution. It was a great way to get out of the rain and learn a few things.

“Orchid haven but not much more...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

The best part of my visit to the Conservatory of Flowers was the company of my friends. The conservatory looks really beuatiful from the outside. However, the plants/flowers inside were nothing that I haven't really seen before. Some of the flowers were beautiful, but the rest reminded me of surroundings that I took for granted growing up since I saw them almost everyday. If you are an Orchid enthusiast, this is definitely a place you would enjoy. Otherwise, even just outside of the Conservatory provides great views and a plethora of bright-colored flowers and gardens that anyone would enjoy (and it's free!).

“don't waste your money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

If you are going to see the flowers, they are outside. Only flowers inside are orchids. Tour is boring.
