A great place to stay. Beautiful garden and incredible rooftop views of the city! The rooms were clean and well decorated, breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was outstanding - very helpful to tourists in explaining how & where to access public transportation and get to the areas we wanted to see. Thanks for a great stay!

My wife and I regularly stay at inns and B&Bs but virtually never with our children. This was one of those rare occassions as the Inn has a cottage that accomodates all 6 of us. Marty, the owner, and his whole staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We were early to check in and our room was not yet ready. He invited us in for their breakfast even though we typically would not have that until the morning after the stay. Several staff members came out to our car and unloaded all of our luggage to take to the room later. The inn is very nicely appointed, the rooms are comfortable and the food is fantastic! Marty indulges all of his guests. You will have a hard time finding a nicer property than this one in SF.

Spent 3 nights in the Garden Cottage with wife and two college age kids. Rooms was VERY nice and comfortable for the four of us. The common areas were extremely clean and the view from observation deck thingy was truly amazing. The staff was awesome in every possible way. We utilized one of the garages across the street and a word of warning they are small (had a full size rental and it just fit--don't plan on parking your full size SUV there and it is doubtful that a mid-size would fit). Breakfast was plentiful and the fruits, eggs... were very good, a disappointment though were the baked goods, although good they were not "home made" . Please understand they were very good, but when I stay in a BnB I don't expect store bought. Two other minor complaints, guests on their cell phones in the BF room and common areas, I was also working but i limited my cell phone usage to our rooms and outside; lastly the dog. We are all dog lovers but not sure how appropriate it is to have the dog sitting on the chairs. Again overall a great experience and would most likely stay there again but need to call it as I see it.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw looked very nice--Garden cottage was perfect for 4 adults (two of which are col...

We couldn't have had a more encouraging staff than this one. They welcomed us heartily and offered so many helpful hints. The two parlors are absolutely lovely, with attention to Victorian detail, and loaded with picture books of old San Francisco. Our only troubles were 1) a musty room (beautiful Room 10), but they graciously relocated us to 32, even carrying some of our luggage up two flights of stairs. It was noisy there, being on the front of of the house, but was very bright, with clear air; 2) in our room, the WiFi didn't work, so we had to sit on the floor at the top of the stairs, or go down to the parlor to make cell phones and laptops to work. The bed was fabulous and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and so pretty.

Room Tip: Ask for a bright room, not at the front of the house.

Coming to the Inn is like travelling back in time to the late 1800s. The house is in perfect condition, and is cozy, warm and welcoming. The breakfast is the best I have ever had, with a table of cut fruit like I have never seen before. Delicious! Location is good in the mission, but it depends on what you like. The mission is hipster-style and a little too much for me, but I can recommend the mexican place on the corner next to the hotel "San Jalisco". Marty is a talkative fellow, but very nice! The people in the reception are very helpful, and shows bus routes and anything you like with a smile. Its pricy but I guess thats the whole city. One drawback though.. the beds were also from the 1800s and not very comfy..

If you like to live the real San Francisco, this is the place to stay.

Martin the owner is a Great host and, give you a tour that you'll enjoy.

The location is OK, I would've like it closer to the Warf. But if you have a car then is perfect. Wi fi needs improvement.

We spent two nights here and wished we had longer. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished. From the moment we walked in we felt very spoilt. Breakfast is fantastic and we felt most comfortable sitting in the large lounge area reading and chatting. Guppy the dog helped us to get over missing our dogs so much. The Inn is a little way out of the city but transport services were frequent and it was worth it to stay in such surroundings. Plenty of restaurants in the surrounding streets.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back.
