“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

I was called to San Francisco on a family matter and on short notice was able to get a good price for one night at the Kubuki within walking distance to my destination. The hotel is very classy with a koi pond in one of their open spaces. The room I had was a private one on the 5th floor. The Sochi covered windows are an added special touch of Japan. The valet parking attendants were friendly and made me feel welcome and the front desk clerks were helpful and courteous. The Kabuki is attached to the Japan Center which is a mall full of Japanese businesses, book shops and restaurants. J was there in the winter and want to return in the spring or summer.

“Lovely Memories at Hotel Kabuki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

My fiancé and I stayed at this Japanese-inspired hotel for 5 days and the service was excellent. The staff were really nice and accommodated us when we arrived early. The room was clean with a great view of the city and the king bed was comfortable to sleep in. Some of the nice features that I liked were the soaking tub, MP3 docking station, desk, and located across the street from a sushi restaurant. We will definitely come back here since we did have such a wonderful time.

“Very good option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

this hotel was located conveniently by Japan town. It's a short distance to the restaurants and Safeway nearby. The building and hardware are nice and feels modern. Staff were friendly. We all liked the Japanese touch in decor. We enjoyed our stay greatly.

“Nice Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We tried the main site for their other hotels and saw the Kabuki. We selected this location sincd we could not find a room at another location. It was quite a surprise - good size - quiet - loved the shower and tub room as well toilet all separate from one another. Staff were great and friendly. We were in Japan town and had a great selection of restaurants. The gardens were beautiful and added great atmosphere. Would stay here any time.

Room Tip: GEt valet parking. Worth the little extra.

“Great San Francisco Escape.,.,!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

I was in San Francisco on business and had to stay over, downtown is busy, loud and crowded. But a hidden gem exists out in Japan Town just a few miles west of the financial district. Straight out Geary St is Japan Town, a beautiful asian cultural pocket. Nestled here is the Hotel Kabuki, a beautifully maintained property (though not all new), but nice, clean and attentive in service, even to the point of a nice rock garden and koi pond off the main lobby.
The rooms are nicely appointed, clean and crisp, coffee, tea, robes, and amenities, like 3 plug outlets on the desktop and a USB charger, nice and thorough. The safe is even large enough for ur computing power to be locked up before you go out for the evening.
It is literally connected to the asian shopping center, great for some small gifts, some great small snack meals and great bakeries. Across the street are some great eateries, and even some karoke bars, always fun.
Also, there is a nice lounge in the hotel, the Izakaya Lounge, with great happy hour prices, and some wonderful small plate snacks (the Mac n cheese is low priced and filling, and the ribs are small but tasty).
To get there from down town, go to Geary and Market Street and catch the 38L bus, for merely 2$, you can go west and get off at Laguna (after going up the hill), and walk 1 block to the hotel.
A good find and worth an extended stay, highly recommended.
Cheers,

Room Tip: All look good, but just to be safe, above 2nd floor might ensure a pleasant stay.
