We stayed at this hotel several deals ago for three nights. We were very excited to stay here based on the great reviews. We were expecting nice breakfasts, nice wine hour, comfy room all for our first time to San Francisco. We arrived late at night, and had a very smooth check in. For the entirety of our stay the front desk was very kind. Anything that we asked of them, they answered or did for us with a smile on their face. There were three of us to the room and as a result I was going to be the lucky person that was sleeping on the pull out sofa. Unfortunately, the sofa once pulled out looked like it was thirty years old in smell and appearance. The mattress was extremely thin and discolored. I actually made myself a little cove on the floor. Other than that the room was large and comfy. The first day that we were there the breakfast consisted of a quiche, sausage, cold items, and some yummy blueberry pastries. I am not a fan of quiche, but I did taste it. The quiche did not change my opinion of it. I really enjoyed the sausage and the blueberry pastries. I also thought that it was nice that they had a blueberry theme that day, as all the pastries had blueberries in them. Breakfast was good and we looked forward to it the following two days. Unfortunately, the next two days breakfast was very disappointing. There were two more days of quiche and the same cold items. By the third day of the same items, I just had coffee. The late night wine with snacks was very tasty the first night as well. There were pesto chicken finger sandwiches and cherry bundt cake. Again, we left looking forward to the next evening. However, the following day the snacks consisted of a veggie tray, hummus, and another dip with stale crackers. Seeing as how we exclusively stayed here for the food, we left disappointed. There is an elevator to use, but it very ancient. The nice front desk clerk explained that to use it you needed to keep the button pressed at all times. I would not stay here again if I were in the area. The food is only good for one day, and then it is a repeat of offerings in the morning. The staff was very kind, and I also appreciated the mini fridge that had complimentary drinks in it.
