I'm so glad I came across the good reviews of this place on Trip Advisor. I wasn't planning on needing a hotel in SF, but when my accommodations fell through I was suddenly looking for a place that was a good price with a good location. This place not only fit the bill but blew away my expectations. It's totally stylish and adorable inside, the people who work at the front are SO gracious, helpful and professional. They went out of their way to accommodate me, even as I extended my stay three times. This is not your Grannie's b&b--there are no creepy dolls or frou-frou touches. The decor is modern and tasteful, they have a wine hour and nightcaps, and a great little breakfast in their kitchen/dining area. They also have an incredible courtyard to hang out in (which is rare for SF).
One more thing, and a big one for me, is the location. It's right in the Mission district, around the corner from the Castro, which is a GREAT location to stay in the city. The house is literally a half block from a Muni stop and several major bus lines, so getting around all over town was easy, but it's also a super-cool area to stay in with tons of restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc. Also just a half-block from a big park.
Moral of the story is, skip all of those higher-priced impersonal, soulless hotel chains near union square, forget anything cheaper or you'll regret it. Stay here! If you're like me, it will end up being your new 'home away from home' in SF. I do plan to return!
Room Tip: Of the three I stayed in, my fav.s were rooms 23 and 22.
