“Absolutley Loved It!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We stayed at the Inn with an RCI timeshare exchange and weren't sure what to expect. We loved it!! Wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. Very close to the cable cars and public transportaion (highly recommend getting a week Muni pass). Our room was beautiful with all the space and annemities we could possibly need. The staff was beyond helpful with any questions we had or recommendations of where to eat, especially Tally, she was wonderful!!! This was our first trip to San Francisco and we would only stay at the Nob Hill Inn should we return!

The Nob Hill Inn offers economically priced rooms for central San Francisco which can be an expensive city to visit. The Inn is also conveniently located to both the city and Embarcadero by the Powell or California Street cable cars. Rooms are well appointed with Victorian style furniture which is comfortable and homely feeling. Bathrooms also feature Victorian baths and basins. Perhaps because of this, my bath may have had a crack. When I tried to draw a bath, there was a leak and water pooled on the ground. I don't recommend you draw a bath unless you are in attendance when you do so in case of leaks. Staff did offer us a room change but unfortunately the inn was full at this time. Staff are friendly and helpful though so it's easy to talk with them if you have any issues. Rooms also feature free WiFi.

Second stay in this hotel in 2 years and I have to say the standard is still good. The hotel is very well located for all the cable car lines which make it easy to get about from. Very good value for money given the price of other similarly located hotels.

Room Tip: They do have 1 or 2 very small (and very cheap) rooms. If you need space make sure you book a bigge...

i stayed in spring(2012)by byself . a bit far from the center station. it takes about 15~20 by feet. the hotel is small and pretty. kind like European style hotel and has small unique elevator. room is also nice. Even i was alone but the Bed was big and so comfortable. The most favorite of the room is the bathroom, i love kind of that middle ages European style of bathtub. and the breakfast was toast and fruits and juice. that was good too.
when i leave there, i called a shuttle bus to go to the airport, but it didn't appeared even it was time. and the staff call that company and claimed for me. but their answering was awful . and they told me that company is famous for the bad company in San francisco. i decide not to use that company anymore. after all the bus came up because the hotel staff tried to call them many times for me. so i feel thank you to them a lot and i would like to recommend to stay at this hotel. next time, i will come again. thank you for your kindness!!

We found this beautiful inn by accident while looking for a vacation using our timeshare. Knowing nothing about San Francisco, I looked at the reviews and decided it looked pretty good for a standard size room (we're used to a 1 or 2 bedroom condo). Let me say that this is by far, my favorite place I have stayed in quite some time. The location is central to the city.

The inn is literally one block from the most beautiful cathedral in all of California and central to so many activities. We were two blocks from the cable car in one direction and only one block (uphill) in another. We bought a MUNI transit pass and went everywhere conceivable in the city for an entire week for only $28.

Union Square is only 5 blocks away, downhill. We walked to many wonderful places and would take the cable car back up the hill. The Top of the Mark is only 2 blocks away and has a breathtaking view of the city. It was voted one of the most romantic places to go for cocktails. Right across the street from it is the Tonga Room, another great adventure. Chintatown was 5 blocks away and everything else was, once again, easily gotten to by transit.

The inn is gorgeous and the staff is exceptional. I also felt very spoiled by having daily housekeeping since with most timeshares you don't get that luxury. The inn had just been updated so windows were double-paned and furnishings new and clean. As for previous reviews about the noise, we didn't mind it at all. For goodness sakes, you're in the city!! The continental breakfast did cost extra (coffee is free) but very reasonable when you consider what you'd pay at a restaurant.

I would HIGHLY recommend this inn and definitely plan on returning in the future.

I have been staying here for over 30 years the Nob Hill Inn is an old Victorian Mansion that they say was one of Sally Stanford's places where she and her girls would entertain San francisco's Elete in other words a High Class House of illrepute if the walls could talk There are many different rooms to chose from they range from two bedroom two bathroom living room and full kitchen to one room one bathOver the years I have stayed in all the rooms my Fav. is called a Stanford Suite it's one bedroom and a sitting room and bathroom all rooms have new Flat screen TV's and Cable There is continental breakfast served in the morning Hot and Cold cereal complmentery coffee and tea served in the wine cellar that looks like a cave they also serve tea at 4:00 pm with sherry port and some biscuits to nibble on after a day of shopping it's a great time to relax by the fireplace and talk to other guest about your day in the cityLocation is great just a few steps from the Cable Cars the Fairmont and Mark Hoppkins cocktails at the Top of the Mark are a must Great views of the cityThe staff is friendly and will make your stay one to remember  they will help with dinner res. And Taxi or Limo service  and if you have leftovers from that great dinner there is a microwave in the wine cellar so you can heat them up for midnite snack if you don't have a Kitch. In your room A stay at the Nob Hill Inn is a true SF EXPEREANCE

Have stayed at many hotels in San Francisco and really enjoyed the Inn. My daughter in law and I had a one bedroom suite with a living room pull out sofa that she said was very comfortable. We were there a week and got week long passes on the MUNI. One block to the California cable car and two blocks to the Hyde Street--also good on the trolleys. So we never had to walk far to get to the Wharf or downtown or anywhere else we went. A very helpful staff from beginning to end. Our rooms were bright and sun filled (traffic on the streets, but hey--it's the city!). Tali (rhymes with Holly) was at the front desk most days and looked up information on the computer to get to out of the way addresses--she was really helpful and always smiling. Not easy to get in but we will try again. Staff and location can't be any better!
