I travel frequently for both business and pleasure and prefer the boutique hotel whenever possible, as I like my surroundings to feel like the city I am in. Kensington Park does just that - and at a fantastic rate.
The Union Square location puts you in the heart of downtown. The rooms are spacious, updated and very tastefully designed. The entire hotel is sparkling clean and the service is excellent and very friendly. It is not loaded with amenities, such as on-site fitness center or restaurant, however, there is a complimentary fitness center at a neighboring property and some of the best restaurants in the city within 100 feet. To top it off, I had the pleasure (guilty?) of knowing that my colleagues paid 3X what I paid for equivalent rooms at some of the high-end chains in the area,
The only negatives are very slow internet service and low water pressure in the shower, but that is standard fare in most older buildings in all cities.
Finally, the entire staff was very friendly, however, if you are lucky enough to catch him, say hello to Thai! He is Mr. Do-it-All at the hotel and will bring a smile to your face, even on the worst day. The Personality Group is lucky to have a person like that representing their brand.
