“Great place to stay in SF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Stayed here early June and would highly recommend. This place has old world charm in a great neighbourhood at an affordable price. Pacific Heights is a really nice area with lots to do and is a short bus ride to the CBD.

Oh My What a Wonderful Welcome! Tea, Cookies and Biscotti's around a nice warm fireplace. Then sparkling cider with champagne glasses on a tray in the room! It made me forget all about the parking pain.
This location is very relaxing and residential yet within walking distance of plenty of tourist areas or just places to keep yourself busy. Plan on coming without a car, or paying a bunch to keep it parked worry free. The other option is moving your car every 2 hours M-F and being careful of those darn street sweeping days, or doing day trips with your car and coming back around 4pm to park worry free for the night until 10am the next day.
The staff is super helpful and I especially enjoyed tea time everyday by the fireplace. We came during the holidays so the home was beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the kitchen with other guests in the morning was nice, you can also take a tray to your room if you want. Access to the kitchen fridge and microwave was nice for leftovers and nice for an evening in if you want to warm something up.
The rooms were nice and roomy with full size closet and very fluffy bed and ours had a window seat too look out to the street. I would certainly recommend this place and will be back again.

Jackson Court is a beautifully decorated and maintained large home, converted into 10 guest rooms and some lovely common spaces. The bed was comfortable, and afforded a nice selection of pillows to choose from. Breakfast was adequate for those on the go: great coffee, yogurt, bagels, breads, croissants and muffins, along with granola or flakey cereal, and a prepared fruit salad. The breakfast is set out for you to help yourself in the small kitchen, and could be taken back to your room for privacy if you preferred.

The only downside of the elegant Pacific Heights neighborhood is that it can be tricky or expensive to park a car, if you have to have one. We got lucky after circling around for 15 minutes and finally found a free space on the street only a couple of blocks away. This is a beautiful neighborhood to explore on foot. Your steep climbs will be rewarded with beautiful views down to the water and gorgeous old architecture on every block, far from the crush of downtown.

The only factors that keep me from rating this gem a five are the difficult parking situation and the less-than-special breakfast. But, hey, this is San Francisco! Maybe it is good to save your calories for the fabulous restaurants out there?

Room Tip: Each room is uniquely decorated and comes with its own charm.

This hotel is a renovated mansion in a beautiful part of San Francisco. It's like staying in someone's exquisite home for a few days. The rooms are beautiful and very reasonably priced for this city. Location is great. Very quiet, beautiful neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle. Delicious and healthy breakfast served in the kitchen every morning. Quaint and unique.

Room Tip: Try to get the 1st or 2nd floor because there is no elevator.

This house, built in 1900, has been converted into a hotel with ten guest rooms and some very comfortable public rooms. The early 20th century style of the house has been beautifully preserved. Each guest room is decorated differently. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood, full of old mansions, is exceptionally pleasant. Breakfast is available in the little breakfast room, equipped with both tables and trays, for guests who prefer to take their breakfast back to their rooms. Tea is served in the afternoon. The staff is friendly and helpful, cheerfully answering questions about the history of the house and bus routes around the city and anything else one could ask. I did not have a car on this trip, so parking was not an issue. San Francisco abound in hotels, many of them very expensive and some in questionable neighborhoods. Jackson Court is fairly priced, in a wonderful location, a has a sense of the historic San Francisco.

Wonderful older-style guest house/hotel. Very comfortable rooms and beds. The manageress and staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Complimentary afternoon tea and biscuits are served every day in front of an open fire. Breakfast was adequate, but we would have liked some cold meat and cheese as well as the cereals, croissants, and bread provided.
Great location in the quiet Pacific Heights neighbourhood, near the interesting Fillmore Street area, with several local buses.

My partner and I stayed here in 2012 October. We were in the blue room (#8). It was a large room, new flat screen TV, large closet with dresser and 2 racks for suitcases and lots of hanging space for clothes. Bed (queen) was comfy. Bath had a good size shower, no bathtub. It was the first time we had been to a B&B. The entrance and common areas were very nice, deep rich dark wood and the area (Pacific Height) is surrounded with million dollar homes. Just stunning. We decided to walk to Fishermans Warf upon arrival to see the neighbourhood and get a feel for the city. It was downhill and we strolled and took about 35-40 minutes. All downhill. Returning I would recommend the bus as uphill .Breakfast was a nice start to the day it included, juice, milk, toast, coffee, muffins, croissants, yougart, granola, cereal. Tea and cookies are served at 3:30. We really enjoyed having tea in the library. We did not have a vehicle and we purchased the City Pass (we were there for 5 days), which was an awesome deal. Bus drivers so friendly and helpful. Bus stops close by. Be adivsed that evening buses (the #10) only runs mon to fri until 7pm. So you will need to walk a few short blocks back to the B&B if your returning back after that time. There may have been another bus but were not aware of it. It was our first visit to San Francisco so took a bit to understand the bus system. We loved the location, residential but close walk to Union St and shopping, a good stroll to Pier 39 and the house is authentic. I would stay here again for sure. The staff friendly, helpful. It was very quiet in the home, we did meet a few of the quests in the common kitchen at breakfast. There are trays to take your breakfast back to your room if you choose. As a reminder, this is an old home so dont expect modern furnishings and everything with straight clean lines (although tv's are new flat screen), the orginal hardwood floors squeak but its solid. The only thing I would state as not a positive was the blue wallpaper in bathroom could use a change and thats me just being picky.

Room Tip: We peeked into a couple of the other rooms when empty and I noticed the blue room was larger, but th...
