“A night in San Fran”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

The service was great & the staff very friendly & helpful. The room very clean & comfortable large area in room & bathroom. Car parking a big bonus in this city. Plenty of restaurants & cheap eating places around caters for all tastes & budgets.

I got a nice room with lovely view. Room facing main road but it was quiet in the night, bed is comfy. Spacious clean room and bathroom. Very cute area, nice restaurants around. Had breakfast at Bay Watch Restaurant just down stair, delicious omelette. Mel's diner's across the street. Italian around corner, bit pricey but nothing special. I stay for 3nights ,the day I checked out seem like some maintenance work was going on the whole floor.

If you don't mind a bit of a walk to Fishermans Wharf this place is a great deal. Price is very reasonable for such a nice place. Rooms were clean a n spacious and underground parking was free. The rooms on the back/side of hotel are much quieter than the ones facing Lombart which was where we were facing our second night. The walk to the pier is worth the price difference in hotels which run double the price down at the wharf. One street over is Chestnut street which has tons of great restaurants.

Our favorite reasonably priced SF hotel. Great rooms, great location. Many restaurants and shops close by. Don't believe that they are sold out until you call the hotel. I've seen "sold out" on various websites and still got a room by calling.

Room Tip: Rooms on Lombard St. are noisy, but have a great city view. Rooms in the back (no view) are quieter...

We have just completed a four night stay at this renovated motel and we are extremely happy with all aspects of our stay. We requested a quiet room on a high floor and this was exactly what we were given. We stayed in room 316 at the back of the building which had a view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the window and we were not troubled by vehicle noise at all. The elevator area was accessed by room key which made us feel extra secure. A big bonus was the ample free parking so we left the car and used the buses and cable cars.

The room was a good size, had new carpets, drapes, furniture and tv, plus the air conditioning unit was fairly quiet. The beds were very comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. There was a safe, tea/coffee making with amenities and we also had requested a refrigerator ( $5 per night ) and this was in place and switched on before our arrival. Housekeeping was efficient and we had no reason for any complaints or requests.

The staff in the reception area were incredibly helpful and on arrival we were given maps of bus routes, an interesting walk was mapped out for us, 'what's on' guides and instruction for internet access. During our stay we were given help regarding payment of the auto toll for the Golden Gate Bridge and nothing was too much trouble.

The location of the motel was superb for eateries on Steiner/Chestnut and we were spoilt for choice. Chestnut had a wonderful vibe to it with an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and a few chainstores such as Apple, Starbucks and Gap - it has everything you need.

We would definitely return here and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear and on a high floor - 316 is good (2 doubles deluxe)

Only problem is spotty internet connection. Good size room with safe. Close to public transport where friendly staff will answer all questions. Great restaurants close bye. Urban community. Walking distant to chocolate heaven. Quiet pleasant place

We have stayed here many times. We use to live in the neighborhood so its close to friends and our favorite old haunts. Hotel has been remodeled since our last visit. Clean large rooms. Close to bus stops and many restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off Lombard for a quieter stay
