You can't imagine how much fun riding around San Francisco on a Segway can be...you think you can, but you can't. City Segway Tours has a conveniently located office with friendly staff who have you up and rolling around in no time. Kristian was a fun and informative tour guide who made us feel safe rolling around the roads of SF (and she knows how to take great pictures!). We often crossed paths with the competition who always had a much larger group and who were all apparently required to wear brightly colored (goofy-looking, imo) vests and made to listen to the tour guide through speakers while still rolling (lame!). City Segway Tours has smaller, more personalized, tour groups and let us wear our regular clothes while stopping just often enough so that we could take pictures and listen to interesting stories about the landmarks. We had so many amazing adventures on our SF trip, but the Segway tour was surprisingly the biggest highlight! I recommend starting your vacation to SF with one of these tours first thing in the morning so that you can see everything without being exausted (it's so much fun effortlessly zipping past people on bikes going up all of those hills!)

TIP: If staying near Union Square, take the Powel-Mason trolley to the end of the line. You just walk straight ahead a couple of blocks and City Segway Tours is on the left. You may want to eat at the wonderful Pat's Cafe beforehand, which is right by the trolley stop (near Chestnut and Columbus).

My husband and I took the City Segway Tour with Kristian (Miss K) the first morning we were in the city. Not only was she energetic, super fun and very knowledgeable about the city, but she also took amazing pictures! She captured one of our most memorable moments of the vacation for us. We had a blast! I was a little nervous, but quickly realized it was easy. The tour covered much more than I could have expected and allowed us to see all of the Fisherman's Wharf and neighboring attractions such as a beautiful view of Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge and Russian Hill (others too). Once we completed the tour we were ready to take a closer look at a few things we saw. The tour covered so much more than we could have ever walked and allowed us to spend more time discovering other parts of the city later. People kept asking where they could rent a Segway and waived as we went by. I can't wait to do it again!!!

With an apprehensive wife and two skeptical teenagers we set out on the three-hour tour...It was a blast from start to finish. Learning to ride a Segway is not as hard as you might think and boy are they an exciting, fun and memorable way to tour this grand city. Kristian was fantastic, she's definitely deserving of the five stars on her helmet. Smiles all around for the rest of the trip. We still talk about it and can't wait to do it again. I've never posted on this site, but wanted to in appreciation of others who turned us on to this great experience. Eight enthusiastic thumbs up! Just do it.

For anybody arriving in San Fran for a few days, you should make sure you do this tour as a first priority. Not only are the Segways so much fun, you will get to see many of the highlights of the city on the 3 hours tour. Miss K, our tourguide, was great fun. She knew lots about the city, made sure everyone was having a good time and catered to all our needs. She also let us play about on the Segways in a safe area which was interesting to say the least!
