“Great view and great dining at Pier 39”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

We had never been to the restaurant before but were looking for a good meal with a decent view of the harbor/bay. We found both at Fog Harbor Fish House on Pier 39. We selected the restaurant based on the wide variety of choices on the menu we saw posted at the front of the restaurant. They seemed to have one of the better selections of fresh fish entrees compared to other restaurants on Pier 39 and along Fisherman's Wharf. The meal started with warm sourdough bread that was tasty. We selected grilled halibut on a bed of arugula and quinoa with some dried cranberries and pine nuts mixed in. The fish was nicely cooked and the mix of greens and other things were very tasty. The fish was fresh and flavorful. We had never had quinoa before and it turned out to be a nice addition. The desert tray looked great but we couldn't manage to eat more right after dinner. Service was excellent (waiter Mark) and the surroundings were pleasant. Not too noisy even though the restaurant was very crowded. We did not sit directly at a window but were in a booth that was slightly elevated and could overlook the people at the window seats. The view wasn't spectacular but we could see a marina area and a nice setting sun. The prices seemed competitive with the other restaurants we considered and the meal was better than many we have had in that part of town. Definitely recommend this restaurant for quality of food and service.

“Dinner on Pier 39”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

One member of our group had been to Fog Harbor before and recommended it to the group. We had 10 people in our party with no reservation but was seated immediately. I don't drink alcohol so I was excited when they had non-alcoholic strawberry mojito - yummy. We ordered appetizers - calamari, crab cakes and mussels (loved it). For my entree, I ordered the mixed grill - swordfish, salmon, and shrimp skewers. I know it's in a touristy area but it was very good.

“Beautiful views and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012 via mobile

We visit San Fran once a year. We've tried many of the resturants at Pier 39 but always seemed to bypass this one until yesterday. We did not have a reservation but only waited about 10-15 mins. Megan was our server and she was wonderful. The view is beautiful, the ambiance is casual with a hint of sophistication and the food..well, let me just say, order the Fried Combo and it will put your taste buds into a frenzy! The price is so worth the portions and quality. Fog Harbor is our new place and we love that it's open and spacious. I would definetely recommend to a friend.

“Great service, delish food and a nice view at Pier39”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

Had my 1st clam chowder in a sour dough bowl. Very delish. The service was great and you get a nice view of the Pier39. The price is very decent and it is a nice place to relax after a very long day of sight-seeing.
