“A proper, stately Civic Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Right before the 1906 earthquake they were close to finishing a great SF City Hall. That ended suddenly. The new civic center features a fine city hall (go inside and see the dome) and the outstanding Asian Art Museum. Unfortunately there is a homeless encampment here as well.

“Shocking number of homeless people”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Can I put a rating of 0? Do not go with families or solo. This place is infested with homeless people who will follow you until you give them money.

“Great to walk about”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Didn't go in..but walked to it from Market and 5th..a 10 minute walk. In front is a market selling all kinds of fresh fruit on wednesday and surprisingly on the sunday as well when we went.

Beautiful architecture...a great open plan square directly in front... definitely something to site-see in town. We walked up Polk from here to Nob Hill....another very good walk...check my review.
