“Nice View by the Riverside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Hotel rate near downtown Boston was soaring high this autumn. Fortunately, I found Best Western Adams Inn, just several miles away from the hub and the rate was half way down.
The front desk staff was very friendly. I wished to buy some postcards from them, but was actually offered two as complimentary souvenirs.
I chose a room facing the river, and was rewarded with very nice views at dawn and dusk. A stroll along the riverside was also worthwhile. The gazebo was gilded in twilight. Please see the pictures below.
The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast for the guests. However, it's not the self-service continent full breakfast, but is served by staff. You may choose any one of the 5 selections on the menu. If you have quite an appetite for breakfast, one selection might not be enough.

Room Tip: Choose the riverside rooms to enjoy a nice view.

Good location to visit Boston as subway is a 15min walk away..Had a waterview room on 2nd floor and it was fine Not smelly as some people have said.. Think it was 203..We had dinner one night here and the service was great and the food too. (Thanks Janine)Spelling?? I'm writing this review from a room at the Best Western Adams Inn in Quincy. The guy who checked me in was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. I was given room 328. The room is old, smelly and grubby. It had not been cleaned properly. There was toilet paper floating in the toilet and long black hairs on the neatly folded towels. The fan in the bathroom sounded like an engine. Certainly no possibility of sleep with it running. I called reception and spoke with Kim who told me she is the Duty Manager. Kim was immediately defensive and told me if I wanted a better room I'd have to pay. Very disappointing attitude. I've now been moved to a room on the ground floor which is equally old and tatty but at least not smelly and it seems to at least have been cleaned. I'll settle back and watch the old TV - looks like it might be from the 1980s !!. This is not a great hotel. It is old, worn and grubby. I would avoid it. Also it's not cheap. My bad room cost $159 plus tax ! There must be a better hotel locally.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel !

Our room was ok but I was expecting better, considering the price. The hall and room had an unpleasant odor, but appeared clean enough. The included breakfast was adequate and food servers were very good. Coffee and tea available 24/7 is a nice extra.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms do not have verandahs or windows that open

Easy to get to by automobile, plenty of free parking, and a seemingly safe area. The hotel is reasonably clean, the room was comfortable and quiet. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and satisfying. During my one night stay I found nothing about which to complain, and I would stay again if I was in the area.

Room Tip: Water view rooms have good vista.

Best Westerns are often underrated. They generally have very good service at relatively low prices. This one was particularly nice. My daughter and grandson stayed with great success. If driving pay attention. A bit tricky the first time in, as many Boston places are. Everyone nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

Employees made us feel very welcome. They all went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, Stayed night before a cruise, then shuttled by bus to the cruise line. The man that drove us to the cruise port was exceptionally friendly. We were picked up at the cruise port after the cruise and had a ride back to our cars which were left at the hotel during the cruise. If you are planning a cruise from Boston - this is the place to stay.
